drealmer7: Absolutely. First time I ever played and got him, right away and ever since. No one else comes close!

I even have his trading card, lucky enough to get it with the game when I got it when it released.

Santiago: Now I'm jealous, I bought this game when it was released too and I didn't get any trading cards!
I got the CE. It came with the soundtrack, 2 bonus discs with bonus things in the game (the items from Torment), and the collector's cards. I have all of the cards in perfect mint condition still. They are really cool, the companion cards have their stats, a quote, and a little bit about the character. Then there are locations and monster cards. You can find pictures of them. There's even a Githyanki card, which is awesome!
I'm gonna go for a sword-and-shield warrior, like I do in all RPGs.
Either an Aumaua Coastal sword and shield fighter
or
a Godlike Battle-Forged or Silver Tide rogue.

Gonna try both of them for an hour or two and decide then.
I'm seriously considering an Orlan monk. Small but deadly. Especially dangerous to your shins.

As a second/paralel char a godlike wizard (FIRE)
Wanted to make a Godlike - death or fire - monk or rogue. I'm leaning towards rogue, since with a godlike monk I wont be using a helm nor weapons - which doesn't go well with my 'deck out your main character as much as possible' fetish ;).
I'll probably make a Godlike, too... not sure which class first. Maybe fighter, to start classically.
A Fire-Godlike Fighter (Tank + Knockdown)
I'll create a Druid but i don't know which Race I should choose.
Going with a meadow folk fighter. (Dual wielding sword & battle-axe)

a cat fighter named Mangestrike...
Dwarf
Death Godlike Bleak Walker Paladin. Hopefully it'll shake me out of habit of playing DoGood McNicePerson.
Human Wizard, but I'm confused do I need might and/or Int for spells, which should I max? I take it might influences damage?

I worry about creating a character then finding out that the class is already covered by an interesting companion NPC. Whereas if I create a character with a class that none of the companions have that things are more interesting. Ie, in Baldur's Gate I find that a basic fighter isn't as good as Minsc, but a Paladin is ok because the only Paladin companion shows up relatively late and is a bit boring, and magic users are good because the best magic users there are evil aligned.

So what I'm going to try and find out is what classes aren't covered well by the companions in PoE. I'm assuming most roles will be covered.

I like to do the exact same thing. For PoE, however, I definitely want to be a Death Godlike race, and that might go better with a certain setup moreso than another (considering cipher or some axe-wielding fighter type), and I don't generally like monks, druids, priests, rangers, or rogue type characters for my main characters anyway, so that narrows it down even more. On top of that, I will be waiting for 2 or 3 patches to actually play the game, so no matter what I might create today I won't be into the game wanting to change things that I wish I would have known and so I can change it later after some more information has been accumulated about the game, if I feel like I need it, most likely I will just go into the game blind, even in 2-3 patches.
