Problems in both games seem to be related to the audio wrappers used to replace the CD music tracks. I ran into the same issues others have described in other threads, specifically the first game not launching despite showing as a process in task manager, and the second game having no background music. The fixes are easy and just require you to drop some files into the game directories.

The archive contains a folder named "backup", just copy the two .dll files "audiere.dll" and "win32.dll" into the folder with the Pandemonium game .exes (allow win32 to overwrite the old one), and copy the 30 MP3's into the MUSIC folder. There's no conflict if you leave the old OGGs in there, too.

I was able to get the fix for the first game to work with the second game with a little hex editing. Specifically, the changes made were:

-In pandy.exe, changed the call for "winmm.dll" to "win32.dll"

-In win32.dll, changed each instance of "music/" to "audio/"

-Converted the OGG files in AUDIO to MP3 (there's no conflict if both types are together in the
AUDIO folder)

(Simply renaming "win32.dll" to "winmm.dll" didn't work, unfortunately, so I had to edit the game .exe for this to work.)

While I think it's great you've fixed the problem, isn't the idea of buying these games though GoG is that they should work out of the box? They just seem to be dumping them on and then forgetting them, much like Steam.

Thanks for providing this version. I wonder why the tracks are different (I can't imagine the length being an issue, you could probably play whatever by replacing the names).

I don't know what is wrong with my computer settings. The music works fine in the menu but when I start a new game and the loading screen pops up the game freezes after applying Pandemonium 2 music fix.
I was looking for a higher quality version of the Pandemonium 2 soundtrack for the fix kindly provided here. The anonfiles link posted here later seems to be dead by now.

I have a copy of the original iso with the redbook soundtrack so I can make my own rips. But any attempt to exchange the tracks of the Pandemonium 2 fix with higher bitrate MP3s would lead to buggy sound on my system: an ugly noise displayed at the start of any track within the game. Only the soundtrack sonny-jim posted with his fix worked error-free for me. I have no clue what ripping method was used for achieving that.

Solved the problem by using yet another winmm-ogg wrapper, the maximilien-noal fork of ogg-winmm, version 18.09. Other wrappers I tried wouldn't have easy ways to use a hex editor on them, I couldn't find anything to make it look for the soundtrack in an AUDIO folder, not the regular MUSIC folder. (It's needed here because there is already a game file called MUSIC in the installation folder). But the maximilien-noal fork is easily modded by a hex editor. Just one entry for MUSIC in the text that has to be exchanged for AUDIO.

Then I could use high quality ogg rips as soundtrack and it plays error-free and also loops. I just had to use the pandy.exe from the fix here (that points to win32.dll instead of winmm.dll) and rename the maximilien-noel ogg-winmm again to win32.dll. The audiere.dll is not needed for this alternative method, you can move or delete it.

PS: With that wrapper and this method you should of course also again be able to use the original OGG files provided by the GOG installation if you so wish.

sonny jim thank you, both of your files helped fix the music issues I had for both games. Shame that NONE of this is documented on PCGW.

No idea what TransparentBlue provided because anonfiles no longer exists.

blam666 it would have been useful if you provided some links to the things you mentioned.

It also would have been helpful if the hex editing part was also documented, make it easier for people who don't really know what to search for in HxD.
I have made a new fixes for both games that don't need any converted audio files and also fix some graphical bugs that were present in the original GOG release(s) due to usage of an outdated nGlide wrapper. My fixes can be downloaded from here. I've also took liberty of editing PCGamingWiki articles about both games to include informations from this thread.
