New update coming out next week. No details yet but the last paragraph also contains indication that they will keep on space trucking on No Man's Sky.

Let's see if they finally stop discriminating offline players. I didn't get any further answer from GoG support on this issue except the "we are kinda busy because of Covid, please be patient" non-sense. If offline players are still being kept out of stuff that doesn't technically require online-connections, I'm going to escalate this to the legal department.
While I sympathize with the offline players' cause, the game is in fact playable offline except for some minor parts of content, which I dont believe would warrant success in any legal action.

But in any event, since there already is a thread dedicated to that discussion, i would suggest it is kept there, leaving this one for what the original poster intended, that is the new upcoming update titled Origins.
The new additions must be huge because the thumbnail (all we have to judge) is non-descriptive like the one of Atlas Rises, Next, Beyond, which all don't reflect the huge additions done in the past with those updates. I don't think that the 3 avatars in the foreground of the Origins picture indicate new features in MP, but are simply decor, I hope so because I'm not a MP fan of the game.

Thank You
I really do like the release 'posters' they produce for these updates!

Fingers crossed Origins works for single-player as well as online players, i might even get it if they mention it now does :)
The Internal branch on steam depots just updated, so it's getting prepared for release. They will probably skip beta and just go straight to Public release, followed by bug patches in the coming weeks.

I noticed they have a new Merchandise link up on the top of the official site ..

https://www.nomanssky.com//

.. Nice to see, but the link to the Help Centre and "Submit a request" is now not so obvious to do bug reports

You have to scroll down to the bottom of the front page to get to it.

I like this bit in the news article though :

"This update will be another small step in a longer journey."

:) I thought they were probably just about done updating NMS, but apparently not.

Fingers crossed they will finally allow us Offline players to get a Void egg and Bobbleheads etc at some point.

It is possible to acquire quicksilver by shooting at Stellar Ice (a rare random space event), which should be available in single-player as well.

Here are instructions from someone who managed to mine 600 qs per hour.

offtopic ..
Its not getting quicksilver thats the problem, if you play the game fully offline (not using GOG Galaxy, but using the Offline Manual Installers) you currently can not get most of the items in the quicksilver store, they just don't show up. So if you want to get a living ship you are stuffed, no Void eggs.
/offtopic .. Please continue any related discussion in this topic.

Nice tip though, I thought I knew everything about this game but getting QS from Stellar Ice is a new one for me :)
Oh, didnt know about that, thx. So i guess the only solution would be to run the game through gog galaxy at least once to populate the qs bot and then remove gog galaxy, or use the save-editor to grant yourself what should be rightfully yours.

You do not have to remove Galaxy to play offline. If you launch the the No Man's Sky executable then you will not be connected to the GOG and Hello Games servers. I did that for many months back in the days of 1.09 and 1.13.

Not sure how long a temporary connection will keep the list of available items up or if this would be reset with the next off-line running of the game. Something to watch for just in case. If you have the items in your inventory and blueprints already unlocked then those have remained after reverting back to off-line mode.

And the patch notes are up ..
https://www.nomanssky.com/origins-update/

Crashing the economy exploit has been nerfed, that's going to rattle a few players but really needed to be done, making money easy and shortening the experience kind of ruined the game a bit.

Think i am going to start a new game again :)

No mention of giving GOG Offline players Void eggs yet though :(, maybe we can get one on those living ship styled fauna planets.

Hell of a lot of variety updates, even "fix clouds" guy should be happy.

No doubt when it goes live there will be a few days before the GOG Offline Installation files will be available.

I just played a Nexus mission in the new Origins update. I landed on a planet with bio-luminescent flora. It was beautiful!
