I fear we are reaching limits what the game (and especially the MP) is at the moment able to handle in one system. Savegames getting bigger and bigger, loading times longer and longer. Some people are experiencing crashes or freezes (or disapaering icons...) - particularly when meeting other players in GoG-87...

I'd recommend building new (espacially big projects) in surrounding systems. Johntodd also suggested that we maybe open a second main-playground. What do you think?

I think we should pick a new system to direct people to. I would update the forum thread with the new location.
UPDATED: Another screenshot attached!

I have found a new system I'd like to nominate as our new main playground.

[Gog-JT1]

6 planets;

2 very nice ones,

2 challenging ones,

2 difficult ones.

I've named them and dropped a base computer and shelter on all of them.

The attached screenshot will take you to "Not The Moon" , a low-grav planet that's begging for a racetrack! Take a look at that trench! (When you get there)

I agree, it's time to colonise new systems.

So, what are the features we are looking for:
(1) 5-6 planets/moons
(2) lush
(3) snow
(4) desert
(5) a dead one: large projects run better on those
(6) a hellish one?
(7) I don't mind our sentinel friends.
(8) a normal star (no spec. hyperdrive requirements)
(9) only one short hop from GOG-87

Your thoughts?

I agree with all points. Maybe except of (7). I don't mind normal sentinels but aggressive sentinels are annoying after a while.

The system looks quite good, but there is no snowy planet, is there? And wouldn't it be good to stay by the [GoG-##] naming at least for main systems? It's very useful in my opinion to know the coordinates from system name and region.

No snowy planet I'm afraid.

And I'm sorry - I forgot the coding schema we were using. And I don't seem to be able to rename the system again.

So, JT1 stands for Johntodd1. There will not be a JT2! ;) Next time I'll follow the code properly.

I've built outposts with tporters and LPs on all the planets in the system. We can now all go there almost instantly by letting me teleport and you reload to join my game. This way anybody can check the system out easily if they want.
OK, found another nice system, this one has a frozen moon and a couple of nice planets and a couple of crappy ones thrown in for good measure.

It's name is [Gog-5F].

I have established a base on the frozen moon.

The attached screenshot contains coords and glyphs.

Your thoughts?
-John

PS. Need to know; we need a new main playground to direct newcomers to. The other thread is still directing people to 87.

Sure does seem like 87 has reached the technical limits of the game. I think that's a good thing to have discovered though. Personally, I think it would be a lot fun to simply make settlements in systems all around the GOG-87 area, so people have things to discover. Of course, having charted locations as well is a good idea, but yeah, it looks like the game can't handle all of us sharing a single system for multiple bases.
Tatwi is right: we should spread out (actually, we're doing so already).
GOG-87 is a lottery win. A big one (forced by CyberNek, I hear). There's no twin system in the neighbourhood (pleeease prove me wrong).
But still, there should be some kind of 'lobby' for new settlers, and old alike, to minlge, and to exchange hands-on building experience and advice, and so on.
- - -
Many interesting planets are to be found in the vicinity, but their system as a whole never fits the bill: there're always sentinels in the way, somewhere. The otherwise best choices I've come across had "frenzied" sentinels or "hostile patrols". Not fun to build there (but I'll try anyhow).
- - -
We'll have to compromise.
I'd be happy with both of Johntodd's propositions (in my opinion, its icy moon doesn't give the 2nd one an edge, given it's just a featureless snowball - it has cool critters, though, I'll give it that much).
- - -
Anyway, here're some of my own finds:

(1)
System name: Ukorja
Base name for teleport: {Ukorja}Romu
07fd:0082:07f3:01e6
(See attachment for portal code.)

2 green planets
1 desert planet
1 icy moon (basically John's moon plus some hovering rocks)
1 failed planet

The storms are somewhat on the bad side. On the green planets, the sentinels are "unwavering", which, to my mind, is manageable (think: wasps).
Not as lush'n'gaudy as GOG-87.

(2)
System name: Nojoseo
Base name for teleport: {Nojoseo}Rawten
07fd:0083:07f3:00fb
(See attachment for portal code.)

1 green planet
1 hot
1 a big icy one (that's a good one, with a red pacific and highlands)
1 mushroom (big caves with critters; I barely left, and 'rost' already settled here!)
2 radiated

The 'green' one, Rawten, would be the one to point new settlers to - not as easy as Proxima was for me!

(3) There's another one -- but the game didn't rename the teleport base, ... and I can't find it right now :/

Tell me your thoughts!

Still not the one I sought, and all but one are unfriendly to beginners, but anyway:

(3)
System name: Ajoitus
Base name for teleport:
07fd:0082:07f3:0205
(see attachment for portal code.)

1 rainy planet w/o sentinels but w/ ugly storms
2 green pretty planets/moons with aggressive sentinels
1 big icy planet
1 hot moon
1 forgettable moon

here are the glyphs to one of my systems as requested, ksj

(sorry to put that there for everyone to see, and to not put up a more thorough introduction, I'm quite new to that forum)

No glyphs to see for me. You can attach screenshots (up to 500Kb in size), though. And yes, the game sucks at supporting this, since it still doesn't include the glyphs in screenshots.

So, either you'll have to note down Signal Booster coords, or you'll have to switch to bordered video mode and then take a screenshot and upload that.

my god.

welp, I'll go with the signal booster one then.

thanks for the headsup.

EDIT: System 1: BITS: 0A27: 0078: 0E7F: 00C8 (in portal glyph order: 5-1-13-9-16-10-7-9-1-3-3-9)

System 2: FAWC: 0A27: 0078: 0E7F: 00F5 (in portal glyph order: 4-1-16-6-16-10-7-9-1-3-3-9)

is that what you need?

Thanks for posting the coords. The game drops me into the 16/16 quest, if I run a portal. So, I need to finish that one up. Thank @+!# the game decided to render portals allmost useless since NEXT, anyway.

okay, gotcha, I was wondering where did you go, since I couldnt find you in any of the systems.

i'll do you a tour guide later on this week, its getting late today.

see you soon next time!
