Shellshock9: If they want to increase their market share they might want to work on that though since that is not a valid excuse.

BKGaming: That have worked on it. That is why they built Galaxy and the Galaxy dev portal.
Doesn't seem to have changed a lot though.
Hello Games seems to be updating one platform at a time. So GOG should follow soon (as it has done with past updates).

I think that if communities were less hostile, developers would consider feedback rather than shutting down communication until the release process is complete.

Buying the game twice does not seem to make sense if the sole reason for doing so is to get access to an update a few hours earlier.

When updates can be pushed at nearly the same time as Steam (or within an hour or two) vs the old way of sending the update to GOG, wait for someobody to test, then wait for GOG to upload it. It changed a lot. It use to take days to get an update put up on GOG.
Peeps should also keep in mind that they've got servers that benefit from slowly rolling out each platform. There's a myriad of reasons for them to stagger the update release, from technical to logistical, but for players there's only one reason to be upset: impatience.

Relax, it wasn't released yesterday and you made it through the entire day without dying. A couple more hours, if needed, won't hurt you either.

That kind of makes sense in terms of why we'd get it last.. doesn't make it right, but it makes sense for sure.

Maybe HG should update GoG first for once followed by Steam instead of always relegating us to last then

The problem with this is that it's just a sign that you only buy from GoG if you expect to be the last to play a patch. It might be better for their servers, but there are other ways to handle that. We'll see how long the update takes versus the other platforms, but it's a poor sign for people who took the day off to play the game.
I just bought Steam version. I'm sick of GOG delays and lack of features.

Never gonna happen, Steams player base is much much bigger.

While I totally get it, Hello Games didn't ask anyone to take the day off work for this. They said it was releasing the 24th, and as long as it updates sometime before the 25th in the last time zone on the planet, then they delivered as promised.

Obviously it would be great if there was parity in update release timing for all platforms, but it doesn't always happen, and getting upset at HG for it is silly when we can't say for sure why it is.

People will always take days off for games/updates. This is just a how things go. They should have expected that.

I don't require parity if one condition is met: Communcation. Something we're sorely lacking at this point. A lot of us are unsure if we even get the update at this point, because GOG can't even say "you will get the update".
high rated
It doesn't bother me that it's late - it DOES really PISS ME OFF that GOG is not letting anyone know what the hell is going on - they are VERY close to losing me as a customer - if they don't give a f--k about us - then why should they get any loyalty from us???

That approach is risky. Perhaps consider taking the day after release off work instead of the release day?

Hello Games noted that the release date for the update is the 24/07/2018, so they will hit that target assuming that it will be released here today.

How entitled do you have to be to say a company should "expect" you to take the day off work to play their game?

Just relax, friend.
Remember that GOG is Good Old Games. Technically it isn't supposed to be in sync with other platforms...

NmS NEXT will be, when it will be.
