I thought that MoW authentication was completely removed/disabled already? I bought it from GamersGate, and it never created an issue when I was disconnected from the internet.

Hmm, were you online or offline when you started MOW for the first time? Do you remember?

If memory serves MoW from Gamersgate used Securom with a one-time online activation. So if you were connected to the internet the first time you started it up it would have activated silently and you wouldn't have noticed anything after that (it would still work fine if you were offline, just as long as that initial activation took place).
When I get time, I will install it on a computer that never had NWN2, or MoW installed on it and see what happens.

KingOfDust: Indeed, not acceptable. If they remove MoW, I'll ask for a refund. I already had the retail version NWN2 with MotB and SoZ. The main reason I bought it again was to get MoW DRM-Free.

Fortunately I haven't downloaded the game yet.
The simple fact of the matter is they can't have MoW in the package if it has DRM on it, it violates the core principle of the site and their advertising. So their options would either be a) get the DRM removed, or b) remove MoW and reimburse us in some fashion.

True, that is why I felt i had to bring this up. After all, a DRM-free MOW was one of my main reasons for buying the GOG bundle.

Best case scenario, this turns out to be an oversight that can be corrected relaltively easily.

I fully agree. Which is why I haven't downloaded the game yet, despite having bought it on the day it was released. If the only solution is to get rid of MoW, I'll ask for a refund. Simple as that. And if they actually leave it in with the DRM, I'll ask for a refund too.

Hopefully they manage to get rid of the DRM.

Same for me . I bought it for MoW . Because I already have boxed copy all of them . But now it's not DRM-free :S

Same for me... I hope a DRM-free version soon.

Dsuljic: MoW's serial key is stored in the Westgate.ini file, but so far there's no way to play MoW without activating it over the internet. Maybe GoG can ask Ossian to help them remove the online authentication :/

StingingVelvet: They will and better do so, given the DRM free pledge of the site. If they can't I imagine compensation would be offered and MoW removed from the package.
I had no such problems, i.e. MOW works without the internet. Maybe during the installation the firewall asked if it could connect and so authenticated this and that. Be as it may, I really don't care, it works for me. Either way, if they said they are working on it, they are. No reason bitching about compensation, you sound like an old broad.
Every hour I checking here like OCD but still there is no improvement :/ This makes me sad panda .
I'm doing the same, unfortunately something like this will take considerable time though :(
Luckily I am not chomping on the bit to get this game installed and play it. :)

Keeping my fingers crossed that this gets sorted out!

I haven't tried it, I am just responding to what others have written. I doubt they're lying.

Go to the GOG page and you see a big banner that says "NO DRM".
And here we have a game that, whoops, accidentally has DRM that is preventing the product from working for some people.

That's not "bitching like an old broad", its a serious issue of false advertising. They should not be selling a game under false pretenses.

"Look I know the sign said 18 karats but its fine as is... stop bitching like an old broad, 14 is just as good"... sounds ridiculous? That is because it is.
