GOG Downloader wont even connect after 3 hours of leaving it open on a 350kbps internet setup.

So, I tried to manual it, but I'm not very tech savvy.

Check your firewall and antivirus settings. I just DLed the entire Divinity:Original Sin (about 12 GB of files) last night using the DLer, so there should be no connection issues. Perhaps one of your protection apps is blocking the DLer from connecting.

Ok, I shut off my entire firewall and security program.

I also re-downloaded it, and restarted my computer.

No luck, curses.

Wow, you got me stumped. I wonder if your ISP is blocking it for some reason (although I doubt that's actually even a remote possibility)

So you can't even log in with the GOG downloader?

I know at one time it had a problem with email addresses that weren't all lower case & or included special characters.

I wish that were the case, but it does not get to the stage of logging in, but stays offline.

Ah well.

If you go to C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com & click on GOG.com Downloader.exe
It should ask you to log in before anything else.

I found within such file:

GOG.com Downloader ( Application) is this the .exe? I run it, but it does not initiate a login, but stays offline.

That is the one. Once it is up and running, press the button at the bottom right that says 'log in'. Have your GOG email and password ready and enter them to log in. It will say 'online' at the bottom left once you have successfully logged in.

The button isn't there...

It has to be. It is a link, more than a button (see attached image). Hover your mouse over the shaded area, and it will turn to a familiar 'finger' for interaction. Click on it.

I've let the program run for 3 hours uninterrupted, it still states that it is "connecting"

I once let the program run while I slept for 8 hours and it still states "connecting"

The login in the bottom right corner has never appeared.

If you have not logged in, that is why you are having this problem, and there is absolutely no point in leaving it running. If the login option is not appearing, then something is wrong, so could you attach a screenshot of your GOG downloader window, please?

Goodness, then there is hope! I shall gladly prove my statements of no login buttons.

Good grief, I've seen bigger postage stamps. I can't make anything out on that. Here's what I would do:

First, press the 'Pause All' button at top left, just to make sure it isn't trying to fetch anything.
Second, press 'Settings' and make sure that ALL radio buttons are unchecked.
Last, check your save path and then press 'Save settings'.

Does this stop it from 'connecting' and restore a login link?
