Hey there, It's been about a week and a half since I got the game for 9.99. Support isn't really helping me with the issue, other then telling me what I've already tried.

I would really like to play this game, especially because I paid for it.

The problem is NOT the gog downloader, the gog downloader crashes whenever I try launching it. I've accepted that so I download my games via the browser.

This isn't the first time this happens, it happened with Baldurs gate 2 now it's happening with Neverwinter nights.

It tells me that the setup files are corrupted and to download a new copy of the program. Now the last time I had this with Baldurs Gate 2, I was advised by the community to change the names of the files and it worked!

what suggestions do you guys have?

I have the exact same problem. Someone please help!

I download the installation files, but when I try to open, it says file corrupted.

Could this problem be related to the fact that there are 3 files? How should they be opened?

You don't open them. You should have one .exe file and two .bin files. Just double click the .exe file to run the installer.

If the files are actually corrupted, then you'll have to DL them again.

You don't get it. For some people, like me, the downloaded installer is ALWAYS corrupted. I downloaded all three files to my desktop, Double-clicked the installer, and it was corrupted. I re-downloaded it several times ( about 3 or 4 ) and nothing. So, you didn't exactly fix the problem.

You can keep your attitude. The guy said twice in the post I quoted that he was trying to 'open' the files. As I stated before, you don't open them, you run the installer. If that's still not working for him, then it's something else, and that's fine. But I was addressing what he actually said.

*edit* It's possible that your antivirus program is interfering with the files as they DL, so it may be worth exploring DLing them (or at least the .exe) with the AV turned off.

Gog installer is corrupted and never finishes installing so i have given up on that, so i download via my browser.

dowinloading goes fine

i run the setupNWN.exe installer file and it says:

"the setup files are corupted, please download a new copy of the program"

So I did, many many many times i have repeated this i get the same message.

I would like a solution to this as I did actually pay money for a game, not some corrupted code and an infuriating windows error message noise!

Have you downloaded the three files to the same location before running the setup ?
My nephew had a similar problem and I found a solution and it appears it can be used with any GOG game. Of course, this is assuming the files are not corrupt.

Any time the "exe" installation file includes one or more "bin" files, they will have the same filename. For example, Painkiller Black also uses one exe file and two bin files with the following names:

setup_painkiller_black.exe
setup_painkiller_black-1.bin
setup_painkiller_black-2.bin

Notice how they have the same filename. The only difference are the -1 and -2 at the end of the bin files.

You can change the names of these files to anything you want as long as you don't change the -1 at the end of the first bin filename, -2 at the end of the second bin filename... and so on since some games include more than two bin files.

So, if I wanted to use the filename "Painkiller_Black_Setup" I could rename the files as follows:

Painkiller_Black_Setup.exe
Painkiller_Black_Setup-1.bin
Painkiller_Black_Setup-2.bin

The same principle applies to Neverwinter Nights. If the names of your installation files don't match, you will be told one or more of the files is corrupt. So check the filenames and make sure they match using the above as an example.
I'm still having this problem, did anyone find a solution? I downloaded 4 times with downloader and one without. I checked hard disk and memtested RAM; neither has any errors. There should be no reason for this problem.
Read the thread labeled: "Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition installation won't start (source files is corrupted-error) " is my advice.

THIS!

My problem is that I can't even find the .bin or .exe files for the game in the first place.

Thanks for this, but my computer states that there are no .bin folders for neverwinter nights on my device.
Did I miss an install step?

Are you using the GOG downloader?

The default location is C:\Users\Username\Documents\GOG.com Downloads\
