ZFR: Oh, and I finally realized what it was that I was subconsciously missing. It's that minimap on the main screen (togther with Wizard Eye spell. Mmmm...).
Wizard Eye is a thing, and I think at higher mastery it also draws the map around you. Maybe. I might be remembering the wrong game....
But Wizard Eye is definitely a thing that exists in this game :D
