You need GoG Galaxy.

The same here. Neither 'Pixel Ships' nor Multiplayer work. The error messages are "You must be connected to GoG" and "You must link your GoG account to your Wargaming.net" account. Neither option seeems feasible.

Pixel Ships are disabled, AFAIK even if you do connect your account.. I get that MP error with GoG quite a lot (especially after an MP crash) and have to restart Galaxy to reconnect. Sometimes after manually killing any thread related to Galaxy.

Anyway.

1. Start GoG Galaxy
2. Make sure Galaxy is linked to your copy of Master of Orion (should show up in Galaxy)
3. Start game from Galaxy, not from desktop.

Thanks for the answer.

Actually, I have never been able to use multiplayer; it has been disabled ever since I saw it first. Master of Orion shows up in Galaxy client, but no special options to link it to whatever. Whether I launch manually or through Galaxy, the Multiplayer option is still inactive. Version control shows '03/02/2016'.
Try escalating through GoG. Multiplayer greyed out only happens to me if my galaxy client is disconnected or if I am doing a large background download when I am trying to start multiplayer.

So either
1. Your Galaxy client isn't staying connected due to bandwidth issues.
2. There's something else going on with your installation.

Galaxy has no bandwidth prolems. Client verification yields nothing new (seems it didn't calculate the checksums, though). What do you mean by 'Escalating' through GoG?
Seems like this is a GoG issue, my MP works fine except with bandwith issues. So I'd open a support ticket with GoD inc case there's something unusual about your system that's the problem (e.g. maybe there is an issue with Win7 and MP).
Hello fellow MoOers,

multiplayer is not working for me at all. no matter what I try. Somewhere in Options or so it said: CoG Galaxy not connected to Wargame server or something. but I never got that to wok, plus I do not really want Wargame to have all my data. I am very disappointed.

shrektex: Need to remove the DRM restriction for entering MP mode. As of right now, you MUST be logged into GOG Galaxy and connected in order to play MP, and there is no option for local lan play it all has to bounce to net and back, so much for no DRM gog..... Im not going to pay 50 bucks a pop to MP locally
A month on and this is still the case. It does rather smell of DRM via software tampering to me. I also happen to agree that paying $50 for another copy of the game on a separate account seems over the top.

Oh well.
Bug - Multiplayer: Game freeze when war is declared by AI.

This appears to happen 100% of the time. It seems like a major problem, preventing multiplayer VS AI if war is declared by the AI at any point.

Only happens since 42.4.1 and 42.6 as far as I know, seemed to work fine previously.

Steps to reproduce:

-2 human players, 3 or 4 AI players ( only layouts I've tried )
-One player irritates the AI by colonizing a neighboring system.
-When the AI player declares war on the human player, the other human player gets a blank diplomacy screen, showing the first human player's leader with a 'decline' and 'accept' button at the bottom.
-Clicking 'accept' does nothing, just hides the buttons. Impossible for that player to progress from this point. No other text. We had to force quit the game via task manager.
-No crash log

Windows 7 64 bit on both systems.

The racial statistics should be displayed when choosing a race for multi-player.
Planets that are about to be downgraded because of pollution should automatically switch to clean up if a turn ends before the player hits the end turn button.

Also consider planets use auto-build automatically if a turn ends and nothing has been assigned.

Ship designs should auto-save if a turn ends while on the ship design screen.

I like to play with short turn limits in multi-player, but sometimes when I have a large empire I run out of time. When it's something like ship design it can be a repeating loop or I have to do things in sections and saving between turns which causes me to use extra time that I do not have as it is.

Also the Ui menus could be revised to make turns more streamlined. The addition of ADD buttons on the colony build screen on each specific item instead of depending on double clicking and or moving the mouse cursor a half mile to the bottom right to click add and repeating then back to the item to highlight it then back the half mile back to the bottom right to click add again when you are building multiples of the same ship type and then another half mile to the upper right of the menu to exit the menu.

With Ship design I made the suggestion that we should be able to input the number of ship weapon systems directly into the screen and that there should be a way to add the MAX available of a weapon system for the remaining space. This would reduce the amount of time in the ship design screen which would allow the player to actually customize a ship and do other things with his or her empire.
So are the Steam and GOG communities completely segregated as far as MP goes?

No direct connect/lan support?
Hi -

I'm planning to play this game for the first time with a friend in multiplayer this coming weekend. One thing I've noticed while preparing is that during singleplayer, each race gets a cool little intro and cutscenes during the initial stages of the game, but in multiplayer these don't appear - the game seems to skip right past them.

How do I enable these cutscenes for multiplayer? We picked up the game to play co-operatively and won't really be spending any time on the singleplayer bits.
