Is there any way to do this and if not... why?
I'm totally new to the MoO franchise, but have played quite a bit of Civ III-V, so I'm not a total 4x noob. BUT... I made the mistake of colonizing a HIGH gravity planet (I would love to see the words "HIGH" and "LOW" in red in a future patch, but I know that I just need to pay more attention). Anyway, I was attracted by the planet's GOLD and I colonized. Once realizing my mistake, I started sending extra colony ships, about 4 of them, from my other planets in an attempt to keep the new venture viable long enough to build the anti-gravity building. Buuuut... with one a - hole going on strike and the enormous penalties of the high gravity planet, I realized it was not only a lost cause but that I had also put a lot of resources, not to mention 5 billion innocent souls, into this ill-advised endeavor.
SO... I started to look for a button to at least save my people (I felt just awful putting them in that situation) but alas, I found none. I ended up just quitting and going back to a save from 25 turns earlier. So I was able to fix it, though still not happy about losing almost 2 hours.
I say all that to ask, wouldn't it make sense to at least be able to make some transports on other planets in an attempt to save these people? For that matter, what happened to all of the ships I used to send them there in the first place? I get that the initial transport ship is probably dismantled in an attempt to start the colony, but it would be a good idea to have an option on subsequent population ships to keep it intact (perhaps for future use) or to dismantle it and gain some production bonus.
Anyway, I'm enjoying the game, really I am (put in 9 hours last night!). But for now I might just toddle of to Tamriel and ESO for a while.
