release date of the editor:

http://www.grimrock.net/2012/10/03/dungeon-editor-release-date/

it is tomorrow the 4'th
Yeah nice! i will finally see EotB and hopefully Lands of Lore 1 in new glory :) Or something brand new.

I wish there would be a way to randomzie the dungeon generation. this way we could see Roguelikes like Angband or Nethack with this engine.

I was wondering where the Dungeon Editor was in the extras in the update, but it was actually hiding in the main installer file - yup, you'll have to download the whole game again. Would've been nice if there had been some indication what file to download. I just happened to guess right.

There's no extra shortcut outside the game for the editor, for one obvious reason: It uses the game engine while building the dungeon. I love the fact I'm able to instantly run through something I just built, edit stuff (new hallways, rooms, etc.), hit the play button (or F5) again, and it auto-magically shows the updated dungeon within a fraction of a second. :)

I'm sure looking forward to the stuff people come up with.

Same here, It's really annoying that they don't update the version number in My Games and specifically say that is the updated part.

Anyway, I receive an error when I start the Dungeon Editor. Fresh install with the version (1.3.1). I e-mailed the developers about it though.
You know, I may actually start working on a dungeon of my own. Some may groan at this, but I really like this idea: a purely puzzle-based dungeon, which would be less about timing and more about figuring out the correct solution, without a monster in sight, but plenty of traps and turnarounds to be found. It should make for a slightly different/interesting experience.

I hate timed puzzles so I would probably enjoy it. However, leaving out monsters entirely might not be the best idea. Maybe leave one or two at the end at least. :P
I can confirm that the small patch (6MB) provided by the Almost Human works well with also the gog.com version.

you can get it here:

They do, it's just that the infobox just shows the first three parts of the version number, so it doesn't show a difference between 1.0.0.13 and 1.0.0.14, and that the indication of which part is new is only shown if you have it set to NOT use the downloader.

Played around with the editor last night for a bit. It is pretty good and easy to use. I expect some pretty amazing mods after seeing the editor.
Seems really easy to use, yeah. I hope I'll get some grand idea soon and get into it properly, it was like staring into an empty canvas... That feeling of creation but lacking inspiration.

Well, I am excited about this. The possibilities are practically limitless.
I can't wait to try dungeons made by other people. I hope it's easy to implement. Re-installing with the new installer now as I write this.
Just as a curiousity. The editor's been tested on Steam for a while, and it has a Steam Workshop with loads of stuff. Does anyone know of a way to download stuff through the steam workshop without having bought it on Steam
I think you have together mods from the grimrock nexus site if you don't have steam. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks pretty simple.

I've been having a great time in the editor! Part of the screen is a game window where you can play as normal, to test out your map on the spot. I don't recall seeing another editor that does this!

Well, Trackmania comes to mind. Can't think of much else than that though.
