Hi. LoG looks pretty cool, but in the advertisements they only show areas with the same dungeon themed graphics. Does the game have more variety in it's environments or is pretty much the entire game gonna look the same?

Thanks!
mines not finished downloading, but from what others are saying and the game size, i would say no.
Nope. As far as I have come to understand it, the only milieu there is, is the dungeon.

That said, if this game takes off, we'll hopefully see expansions in short order, because it's supposedly quite moddable.
There are definitely different wall, floor, and ceiling textures throughout the game for different levels and parts of the dungeon. Make it down to level 3 or 5 and see what you think then.

Dungeon Master 2 had plenty of outdoor scenes even though it too was a dungeon crawler.

i bet dungeon master didnt though
I don't know what the outdoor locations of DM2 were like but most outdoor locations in early dungeon crawlers were just like the indoor tunnels but with green tree walls instead of brick walls.

So it wasn't really that different.

The theme changes a bit as you crawl deeper into the mountain.

Just because it's a Dungeon Crawler doesn't mean it can't have some variety. And I'm not just talking about going out into forests and stuff either; the scenery could change from 'dungeon' like in the game, to caverns, then buried temples, cliffs on the outskirts of the mountain, etc.

Now that I own the game, I see that that sort of thing is outside the scope of LoG. But just saying 'it's a dungeon crawler' doesn't mean the textures can't change here and there.

Yeah i agree that this is the games weakest point.. when i was buying this game i definately was certain that the game will rock, and also imagined to find some ancient water pools, fauna and other spectacular eye candy.. sadly i was mistaken.. It will be implemented in a sequel probably..
Yup. Keep in mind it's a 4 dudes team for the whole game and a short development time.
With the great sales and reception, it will probably offer them the opportunity to produce more content.
We still can spread the word to support Almost Human!

Adding some more variety in the environments would be nice.

However, if environments became more varied then they may have to change how they put secrets in the game.

The way many of the secret passages are placed now seems to really rely on the monotony of the current walls. Because so many of the walls look the same you can usually pick out the ones that have a switch hidden on them.
Is there only the one 'loose rock' type of secret trigger for wall textures? What about walls with vines, any of those have triggers on them in varying areas?
There's one other type of hidden switch I have seen so far, as of level 3 - a button brick. Its basically a whole brick that looks different. I also haven't found any triggers on walls with vines, or with chains or other decor I believe. But Im still early in the game.
