QWEEDDYZ, please, do not provide desinformation.
On PCGamingWiki, in the article for SR1, there is also evident desinformation, including link on the winplay.dll on the site of dgVoodoo (outdated version of this dll, for the original Eidos Escape Player, which is not used officially from 2012 - i.e. from release of SR1 on gog and Steam with bink patch which contains new version of winplay.dll, which was created from zero) and link on the Hungarian translation which is the part of my patch (and this translation on the forum of PCGamingWiki also contains my patch; exactly, version 1.2.4.* while now I released already the version 1.2.5.4 and soon will be released the version 1.2.5.5 with the native support of XInput). Also SRHook does not work no more with my patch - I improved the code for the WideScreen fix to do not use constructions that cause crash of the game after bink movies (original code of WideScreen in SRHook requires using of such constructions while my code does not need them). Support of additional hotkeys of SRHook (that can't be reassigned while I provide such possibility in my patch) was desactivated in my patch years ago due to conflict of this code with utility DxWnd. Fix for FPS Limit (the last feature of SRHook) I also added in my patch. With limitation on 60 FPS because using of bigger values also lead to the crash of the game.
About "bugged save system": I played (and playing) in SR1 about 20 years, on different OS, including Win98, WinXP and Win10. And I NEVER saw bugs with saves. Only one guy (for all time of my support of SR1 - i.e. for 12+ years) provided for me the save with constant crash at the certain place, but when I loaded this save on my PC, the game worked fine, without crash. Because the reason of his crash was in corrupted game files and refreshing the game solved this problem.
P.S.: from the version 1.2.5.0 of my patch, the game also stores location of the save. In addition to this I added additional option in the starting dialog ("Blocks") which is desactivated by default. This option allows to start new game with already solved block puzzles. ;)
