Your most welcome :)

Now as to your question:

The Ironskin Jerkin is magical quality, yet if you get it identified at a vendor (there is one at the docks/seaport area of the Krondor Map) (You can find him via the Sign outside this one orange door that is down a bit.

The Ironskin Jerkin is a magical jerkin that is stronger then regular jerkins, however it severely limits your agility (by half). This is problematic on three areas:

Agility for James affects his offensive and defensive stats in terms of his chance to hit a target and to dodge a blow. Plus dexterity also affects his movement (meaning he can't move as far each turn and he can't get in as many attacks).

In a way think of agility as the most important stat for James. Any magical items that increase his agility are uber awesome! Agility allows James to dodge, be able to have multiple attacks in a round of combat, be able to hit targets, affects his offensive and defensive modifiers and is just plain cool.

So, the ironskin jerkin might help soak up some damage, but you will end up being very slow and unable to attack as often and accurately.
I have not progressed far in RtK, and I am curious whether there is a level cap? If so, what is it? 20?
* bump *

Nobody knows? Also, if anybody does not mind the question, what levels are recommended for James, Jazhara, Kendaric and Solon by the end of the game?
Finished the game yesterday, and still am not sure whether there is a level cap or not, but anyway the levels for my characters by the end of the game are: 15 (James), 13 (Jazhara), 12 (Kendaric), 10 (William), and 9 (Solon).

Rather than creating a new thread for a short review, I think I just post mine here: BEWARE that it may contain SPOILER! Also, this is MY opinions. Your mileage may vary with this game.

LIKE:

(*). Good save game system: you can save anytime, anywhere.

(*). Certain parts of the background music, like in the beginning of Chapter 0 of the game for example, somehow reminds me of Quest for Glory V music, and I like it.

NEUTRAL:

(*). Story is not impressive, not memorable, and not solid, but I've seen worse, so no complaint about it.

(*). Graphics are acceptable for that time.

(*). Turn-based combat.

(*). The game length is not too long that it may make a gamer bored along the way.

DISLIKE:

(*). The absence of subtitles really, really breaks this game for me. For me, it is a downright insult to gamers with hearing impairment, gamers without sound speaker, or even gamers whose native language is not English. Even the journal does not help but repeat the non-subtitles audio. How stupid is that?

(*). <sarcasm> Thanks to GOG for NOT providing the manual </sarcasm> and thanks to fellow GOG forum member(s) who provided it. Without the manual, I probably did not know that mages cannot cast spell while holding staff.

(*). Unless I missed it, I cannot find explanation of spells anywhere. So that is a minus point for me.

(*). Severely limiting inventory system. Worse yet, money in this game transform fro a necessity to a burden... literally.

(*). Items that are still not identifiable with 100 points assessment. What is up with that? A bug or something?

(*). Did I mention I HATE the non-subtitles audio (and video)? I did? Well, let me say it again, I HATE it!

So sadly this is among the games that once I have finished I will never ever want to replay again. Since this game is gifted to me (thanks, Aniketos), I suppose I should not complain too much about it.

I give this game a score of 20 out of 100.

Not trying to change your opinion or anything, but just out of curiosity:

I thought all spells are described when you right-click on them in spellbook.

The coins are the heaviest, but whenever you visit a shop they are exchanged to precious stones, which weigh only a fraction of that.

There is a low-level spell with 100% success rate of identification. And it is possible to raise the skill above 100 with items.

I can wholeheartedly agree on subtitles. When I played the game for the first time, I had no idea what's going on during most of the story -_-

I thought so too, but when I right-click on them, nothing happened.

Not in Chapter 5 though. Of course by then money had lost its meaning. In Chapter 0 to Chapter 3, I was overburdened with both money and precious stones.

I did not come across that spell. I had one Ring of Inspection, and two Rings of Assessment (or something like that) though.

Now that's strange. Maybe it wasn't right click, but for certain all spells were described.

It's Know the Hidden. Second spell from the Change path.
