Your most welcome :)
Now as to your question:
The Ironskin Jerkin is magical quality, yet if you get it identified at a vendor (there is one at the docks/seaport area of the Krondor Map) (You can find him via the Sign outside this one orange door that is down a bit.
The Ironskin Jerkin is a magical jerkin that is stronger then regular jerkins, however it severely limits your agility (by half). This is problematic on three areas:
Agility for James affects his offensive and defensive stats in terms of his chance to hit a target and to dodge a blow. Plus dexterity also affects his movement (meaning he can't move as far each turn and he can't get in as many attacks).
In a way think of agility as the most important stat for James. Any magical items that increase his agility are uber awesome! Agility allows James to dodge, be able to have multiple attacks in a round of combat, be able to hit targets, affects his offensive and defensive modifiers and is just plain cool.
So, the ironskin jerkin might help soak up some damage, but you will end up being very slow and unable to attack as often and accurately.
