Hello Folks!

I`am dont speak (very good) English. Therefore i make a Thread for some Questions that targeting the Start.

First, The Game is Nice and I love the Midkemedia (Krondor) Books from R. Feist, too.

1) I don`t understand the Stamina and Health Status of the Game. I lost Stamina after Battles, but why? The Health causes on Damage from Enemies.

2) I often get spoiled altough i check the Status of the Rations. After a few Time I lost Health and can`t restore this. At the Beginning of the Traveling to Krondor i dont find Restoratives.

3) The Bag should store my Items to Sold. I dont find this Bag, Where is it?

4) The Modificator for Weapons, I need a good explanation.

I am found a few good Webpages for the Krondor Stuff, but nothing in German.
It is all in the manual. You can download it separately. It is under Extras or something.
In the manual i dont find the specific answers to my questions.

1. when you take damage, it's subtracted from your stamina first. When you run out, it's subtracted from your health. when your health drops, so do all your skills.

2. food doesn't spoil, but you can pick up spoiled or even poisoned food.

3. I don't understand the question

4. some items can modify your weapons but it only lasts for one combat
Thank you gnarbrag for your answers.

That helped me a little better.

Question 3) The Bag?

I mean the way to trade Itmes with Merchants. The Items should temporaly stored in "this". I dont find a Bag Icon in the Inventar.

To sell items in a shop, simply drag the item to the "Shop" sign (located to the right of the character portraits). No bag involved.

The only time a bag icon becomes relevant is when you want to drop items on the ground. When dragging items in your inventory, and you are not in a shop, the area that normally shows a key-ring changes to show a bag. Dragging items there will put them in a bag that gets dropped on the ground.
Ok. I have understood your Hint.
You are in for a real treat, though. The game is superb.

This could be a few things. If you rest in the wilderness, you will never fully recover your stamina (although you should recover your health fully). The only way to recover stamina all the way is to rest at an inn. <<Restoratives will increase the speed at which you recover health and stamina while resting (useful if a character got badly injured in a fight), but if you're sleeping outside you still won't fully recover all your stamina. They also won't directly heal you, you still have to rest.>> EDIT: I was confusing restoratives with herbal packs! Restoratives do indeed provide instant healing (see posts below).

Sometimes characters will get sick. In this case you need to give them special treatment, for example give them herbal packs and plenty of rest to help them heal.

EDIT: Oh and you eat rations when resting, so if you run out then you won't recover any health or stamina and your characters will start starving. Usually it's easy to find plenty of rations though, just make sure you check them to see if they're spoiled before you pick them up!

Some of the things you wrote are incorrect. Let me clarify some things.

When sleeping in the open you recover up to 80% of your combined health + stamina (health first)

Restoratives (green vials) immediately heal a limited amount health/stamina. They have no over-time effect, but they will reduce status effects like near death, sickness and poison.

Herbal packs will increase the rate at which you recover health/stamina when resting and also heal you over time (even past the 80% health + stamina) by just walking around. Resting while under the effects of a herbal pack will reduce status effects like near death, sickness and poison.
Herbal packs are extremely useful. Make sure to always carry some.

You get sick either from scripted encounters or by eating spoiled rations. Rest, herbal packs and/or restoratives will gradually remove this status.

Wait... does this mean if health is damaged, a character will only recover up to 80% health in the wilderness? So they will be stuck at 80% of all their stats (including speed) until they rest at an inn? I do not recall that happening, I was pretty sure that my characters would recover all their health but never got to max stamina. But I could be wrong (please correct me if so).

My mistake, I confused restoratives with herbal packs, sorry!

yeah, but that's very unlikely to happen because when you take damage, it's subtracted from your health first. I've seen it happen when my health and stamina improved while sleeping outdoors.
Nice Discussion!

The Game makes for me a few Things very difficult (sorry for my bad english). The Pathfinding is clunky and unprecice. I dont know which path on the Map i enter first, that its a try and error for me. The Quests have a optimal sequence and when you dont follow this sequence you get Problems. The same Meaning for the Inns. You dont find many Inns on the map and when you find an Inn, you have not enough Money.

But thats in Comparission to The Atmosphere and Good Quality for its Time, nothing worse.

My first Run for the Game was unseccesful because i don`t understood the Menchanics from it. Through this Thread i get many good Hints and Advices and i will try a next run, soon.

For the Shops i will show to get money, than Battles existent enough. And Loot is richly.

You mean it's subtracted from stamina first. I know that. But, for example when casting lots of spells (which drains stamina and health) I would sometimes end up with reduced health for some characters. I thought that when resting outdoors, their health would slowly heal, and once it was full, their stamina would heal, but it wouldn't heal all the way since I was resting outdoors.

Is that wrong? Would their health only heal up to 80% of max, and then their stamina would start to heal, again only to 80% of max? That seems really punishing since health damage reduces stats, and inns are rare. I thought they could heal injuries to health but not all of their stamina, only an inn could make them "well rested" enough to have a full stamina pool.

Can someone confirm this behavior?

That is correct. Health is always restored first. Similarly, stamina is always reduced first.

Resting in the field can restore all health and some stamina, unless a character is sick/poisoned/starving.
