Well, I´m playing this right now and I´m interested to have conversations about different elements of this game.

If you have any questions or problems - just quote me so I could see notification. I have the game on "pause mode" so I am not so frequent user of this subforum at the moment..

Alright, thanks, I keep this on my mind!
I played that game last year. I bought it because I was drawn to its similarity to the HOMM series, and now I suspect the game is cursed. I don't know what it is... The plot is laughably trite, RPG elements simplistic, and the combat gets repetitive after a while, but for some reason I couldn't stop playing until I slew all monster stacks on the map and investigated every corner. It's simple, yet extremely addictive. Armored Princess is even better. I'm afraid to start another playthrough, lest I lose even more of my free time and sleep. :)
I'm big on King's Bounty Crossworlds, and its expanded version of the Amelie princess-brat campaign these days (having finished Bounty the Legend a while back.)

It will wear thin though. There is a thinness to the content in these games, which is the only barrier to perfection with these games I think.

There is a lot of desire for more content as the expansions brought (the upcoming KB2 slated for this Spring is another entry with some new features), which perhaps is what the publisher wishes to encourage, but IMO user-created content is the way to both game and sales longevity.

When a proper user-friendly-but-powerful (a la the perfect Age of Wonders Shadow Magic) map/campaign editor comes out (the Crossworlds editor doesn't cut it sadly), I think a mapmaking communtiy will flourish rapidly and you will have a game for the ages.
Hello Luxor!

You seemed to have a quite good understanding about this game. Mayby I could ask you one question:

I have little problems with my spell book. I have now found the important Resurection but now game says that there is no room for it in it. Do you or does anybody know how to get over this problem? It was to mistake to collect all the spells I found in the spell book because now I don´t seem to get this important Resurection -spell in my book. Any ideas and comments are welcommed!

You've found it in some shop and there is no place to buy it?
There is counter of scrolls on left side of spell book - you need to use / sell scrolls to make place for new ones.
Thank you for hints - I finally make it!

This is truly a great game. For example I really didn´t understand in the start how complex this games fight/magic/equipments -system really was. I recommend this game for everybody but if you aren´t really experinced player - maybe you should try this game at easiest level. Or maybe I was just so clumsy. But with this game I really go through a real adventure - sometimes I was angry - but mostly really love it. 150 hours well spend.

I've finished the game recently as a warrior. It's a shame that the game is not as popular as it richly deserve. I think I will play it again soon as a mage with a higher difficulty level (I played on normal)...

I don't like two things about the game though:
- font size is way to small in conversation panel. It really hurts to read some long texts.
- Paladin with a skill that allows him to hire undeads and demons? WTF?
Playing now a second time, this time as a mage in impossible difficulty level. Currently level 6 (level progression is veeeeeeery slow in impossible), still clearing Darion. Meanwhile the game is not that impossible...
I never played any of the King's Bounty games. It looked decent, so I picked it up, and it's been great so far. From what I can tell, I'm about 3/4 of the way through it. If GOG can get the other King's Bounty games, I think I'll pick them up too based on my experience with The Legend.

I don't like to advertise other game sites on the GOG forum. but if you are interested n these games and don't mind DRM the the Gamers gate 1C complete pack is worth a look at giving a 92% discount on some reasonable games.
restarted playing it some time ago
i play KB:TL as well
I don't have the GOG version (found a DRM-free disc version in a local bookstore for $5) but I've been playing the AP campaign in KB:Crossworlds.
Never played turn-based tactical games of this sort before. I am rather enjoying it.
