So, just out of curiosity, has anyone tried this game on WINE?
This question / problem has been solved by miserymachineimage
Yeah. It doesn't work with the default configuration, and I couldn't be arsed to try anything else at the time.
Ive gotten it to work with a wine wrapper but only to a small extent. When it loads up it is missing textures and menu items. Basically its a bunch or red blocks mixed with actual images. I cant figure out how to remedy this problem yet.
I added it to the WineApp DB

Lets hope we can get something done.
Good call on adding it to the DB, that was my next step!
I just installed this on my Mac into a Wineskin wrapper. I had the same problem that everyone else has reported (red squares, missing textures, etc.) until I replaced the Wine engine with one built from version 12.5 of the Crossover engine. So far, this engine works with the game just fine. So, if someone can figure out what Crossover is doing that Wine is not, a solution should present itself.

I got it running using Crossover 12.1.0. Runs smooth except for one little problem. It refuses to load a saved game and segfaults instead. Saves just fine, simply won't load a save (and weirdly the saves are in a folder in my Documents instead of in the bottle like I'd expect). Are you having this issue as well?

Hi,
you can try delete symlink to My Documents in user/[username] and recreate My Documents and Inquisitor_SaveGames folders without symlink.

In which version you got it running Inquisitor, demo or full version?
Has anyone been able to make it work in playonlinux?

Definitely worth a shot, I'll have to try that in a bit.
I'm running the demo version of Crossover 12.1.0 (Mac), this is actually the first time I've used Crossover, wanted to see if it worked as well as it claimed before buying. I had an old copy of the demo sent from a friend. Finally got around to poking it awake. :P
I know it doesn't do any better using PlayonMac than in wine (same red blocks, missing textures, etc.) don't have access to a Linux so couldn't say in that regard.

Update:
Okay, realized it was foolish to be using an old demo of CrossOver, so downloaded a new demo of CrossOver, that would be CrossOver 13.0.0 for Mac. Installed Inquisitor from the GOG exe into a Windows Vista bottle (after thoroughly removing the old version and all related files). Inquisitor runs completely fine. No red blocks, no missing textures, rolled up a character, played for about 20 minutes, made multiple saves. Was able to load from a save with zero issues. Quit the game, restarted it, again had no troubles loading any of the saved files. The one weird spot was on the initial launch. When I first launched the game the mouse cursor was weirdly scattered, I flipped over to my desktop, then went back to the game, and the mouse decided it was completely better. Not really sure what that was about.

I have no idea what CrossOver is doing differently from Winery but Inquisitor is apparently happy with it.
