Hello, maybe somebody here can help me out.

So, I'm in the High Ateliers and close to finishing the game. Since there are multiple endings, I wanted to make a copy of the save file, play one ending, then "reload" and play another, and so on. But after testing it I discovered that there are "online" and "offline" save files, and that the "online" save will always be the one last synchronised with the GOG cloud. In other words, my solution (which I remember using with Dark Souls, by the way) isn't going to work.

Is there anything I can do to avoid having to replay the game 2/3 more times? Because I've spent over 40 hours in it already and I don't think I like this game enough to do it all over again.

What I came up with, after snooping around in the forums, is to "convert" my online save file into an offline save (I'm not exactly sure how it's done, though...), make copies of that, play with GoG Galaxy off, and then proceed as originally planned; after I'm done, play the game again through GoG Galaxy and let the achievements get registered. However, I'm worried that in that case the achievements won't pop, because they would have been obtained offline and they wouldn't exist in the online save file.

Does anybody have any advice?

I managed to find a solution to the problem thanks to a random guy on Steam. I'll post the procedure here for posterity, lol

1) Go to AppData\LocalLow\CradleGames\Hellpoint
2) Make a backup copy of the existing save files in another folder
3) Launch the game in offline mode (that is: GOG Galaxy completely off and/or turn off internet on your computer completely)
4) In offline mode, start a new game, then quit
5) Open both the NEW savefile and the OLD save in a text editor (like Notepad)
6) Copy the entirety of the contents from the OLD save into the NEW save
7) Scroll to the very end of the NEW save: you'll see the final records are labelled "id", "user", "name" etc; you'll see that the "id" will be the filename of the OLD save (because you just copied it, right?). So what you need to do is copy the filename of the NEW save into this record, overwriting the OLD save's filename
8) Since you're already there, it's useful to also change the "name" of the save, so that, in the game, you'll be able to tell the two savefiles apart and you'll be able to tell at a glance if the whole thing worked
9) Launch the game again, in online mode, and you should be able to see in the load menu the two distinct saves, that are in reality two copies of the same save. Now you can proceed in the game on one of them while still keeping the previous "state".
