Hi,

I'm having some serious problems enjoying/playing this game. The terrible mouse-movement makes the game close to unplayable. And it's so aggravating, since the game seems really good!

The mouse moves fine horizontally, but vertical movement is so wiggly. I'm completely unable to move the mouse in a straight vertical line. It makes it almost impossible to get a nice flow of gameplay, when i constantly have to struggle with the mouse.

Has anyone else had problems with the mouse?

EDIT: It seems the resolution is higher vertically. Is there any way to change this? Please help! I want to play my game!
Any tips?

I'll have to second this. The problem can also be found in the menu sections of XIII (but not in the main 'game' portion of that game) but in GC2 it's present both in the menus and in the game itself.

With a Logitech G9x I am able to severely increase my mouse sensitivity on the fly to partially correct for this strange problem, but it's a very stopgap measure at best, and not anywhere near a proper solution to this problem. Especially when I like high sensitivites to begin with, and thus my 'normal' mode of moving my mouse slowly and in short increments to get something done on-screen provokes forth staggered and jittery mouse movement in-game.

Any solutions to this problem?
I'm not sure what's causing your problem but I've had similar problems in other games and turning off vsync solved them.
So you could try this
Nvidia Cards
Goto -> Nvidia Control panel ->3d settings->Advanced
Scroll down to Vertical Sync and turn if off.
I believe it is similar in ATI cards but called vertical refresh instead

There's no guarantee that this will do any good but you can always turn it back on again so it might be worth a try.
Allright, checked out GC1 as well, and the same issue is present. Horizontal movement is fine, vertical movement is jittery as hell. In GC2, I tried turning V-Sync on and off, had no effect. Same result when using Setpoint to not use native OS drivers for pointer.

OS: 7
Mouse: Logitech G9x
Gfx: ATI HD5850 somethingsomething for laptops.
All drivers up to date.

Fiddled with setpoint settings and had no effect, nor did any graphics options in either game. The same problem existing in XIII's menus (except there the problem was horizontal movement) just makes the whole thing even weirder, as I have no idea what might be causing it.
Bump for need of solution.

I have the same mouse-lag issue with the game.

OS: Windows 7 (64 Bits)
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4800
Mouse: Logitech G9

Tried dabling with system compatibility and in-game options without any results.
I tried grainne6's suggestion, but it made no different. So should i assume that we're the only ones having this problem? We're not just being picky, and that's how the mouse behaves in the game?

This is the only game I've EVER had mouse-problems in (that worked well apart from the mouse, that is). Which leads me to believe that the mouse is supposed to be a pain in the ass.

I recently bought World In Conflict. That game had AWESOME mouse-movement. Truly staggeringly amazing mouse-movement.. Hmmm..
No, the mouse isn't supposed to behave this way. Back when I still owned the retail boxes of these two games, the mouse worked just fine. There's something about this new release, or new OS's/Mouse Software that's causing this.

Or possibly even something to do with graphics, I have no idea.
@ Voight-Kampff: Do you have Logitech G9 mouse, like Deviate and nvali do?

@ all: It will be of great help if you try using different mouse and send results along with dxdiag file through our support page.

I have a Microsoft Intellimouse. The game behaves the same way with the touchpad on my laptop.

Tried using my old Razer Copperhead and the old Razer Diamondback (both have borkd mousebuttons which is why I replaced them, but the mouse-movement is sharp as ever) just for testing purposes, and it's the very same problem. This does not seem to be a Logitech issue.

Windows 7 64bit
Logitech G9x, Razer Diamondback, Razer Copperhead mice tested
ATI HD5850 gfx card.

I'll do a support petition.

Edit: Support page won't allow for contact about technical issues like these. I just get forwarded to support pages that contain no mention of these issues.

The link to our support form is on the right side of every game's support page, under "Contact our support team". That should work fine.

Ah. Derp.

Apparently I'm blind as a bat. Thanks for the help, I just sent off a support request with DxDiag attached.
Roit!

After numerous e-mails between me and Ethaar we've reached the conclusion that this might be in fact provoked by a 3rd party program running in the background.

A temporary solution to this, until we find out what program it is, would be:

1) Create a new account on your PC with Administrator Rights.
2) Open the Task Manager and go to Processes.
3) Close all 3rd party Processes.
(easiest way to find out which is a 3rd party process is to right click a process and select Properties. That should help you figure it out).

Hopefully, if you guys are also in contact with Ethaar via Tech Support we can find out faster what program exactly causes the mouse lag. I tried hampering with them myself, closing them one by one, but didn't find an exact solution.

Happy hunting.
I have tried this now. It didn't help me. And I have the game installed on my MacPro as well (Win7 32bit BootCamp) and it behaves the same. :(
Actually, changing to a 4:3 resolution seemed to improve things slightly. Has anyone else tried this?
