Navagon: I'll have to give those a try, thanks again! I'll let you know if either work.

So once more I go hunting for the backup disc...
Yeah, let me know how it goes.

I'm tempted to try the glide wrapper myself to see it if corrects the cutscene positioning, i'll probably give it a shot later today.

Both options seem to work. The glide option is less fiddle in the long run as once it's set up it's set up. No need to reconfigure it each time.

But it doesn't have anywhere near as many options as the D3D version. No widescreen. No AA. Low res model textures and seemingly less control over the sound either.

But what does work works well. It's playable like that.

I eneded up not having the time to fiddle with the glide wrapper, but the lack of options is a bit off puting.

Are the cutscenes centered with that option ?

Anyway, neither solution is perfect but a game in a playable state is alot better than a game gathering dust on the virtual shelf ;)

Cutscenes displayed properly. Not just centred, but fullscreen. Not discoloured either. The main menu is the same.

Ah, i'l definitely give glide a try then, thanks Navagon.

Pitty that the benefits of both options can't be combined into a single 'package'.

We can only hope that's what we'll have when GOG sort it out properly.

Well, i wouldn't hold my breath. Not just in regards to Messiah but to the few games that could really benefit from some gog tweaking. At lest i'm not seeing it happening untill they get some more folks on board, they're clearly understaffed, and have been for a whle now i guess, so stuff is bound to fall through the cracks i guess.

Sad, but true. Hopefully their increased popularity will aid their expansion.
i downloaded and installed the font exe but gc or gc 2 still doesn't work. gc2 the exe pops up quickly then disappears no black screen and gc black screens then crashes to error report.

I'm running windows 7 home premium 64bit, core i7 729qm, gtx260m

You'd be best off starting your own thread considering this one is marked solved. Not a lot of people are going to be trying to help you here.

Just make sure you've got all your drivers and direct x up to date first.

Good luck finding a solution.
I had the same problem, but the link you posted no longer works. I can get to the website, but it seems all the download links are broken. I found a new website called Ufonts; unfortunately, I consider the download from that website to be malicious, since the .exe installed a few programs without my permission. Despite the, seemingly, harmless intrusion, after the font was installed and the programs removed, the game began to work. I believe you can also acquire the .ttf from Ufonts. Thank you, for your solution.

---edit---
Due to -what I consider to be- the illegal (illegal meaning, without my permission) installation of several programs, I will not post the link to the website mentioned above. However, the website is fairly easy to find. Everyone should have very little trouble finding it.

The Microsoft web core fonts can be found on sorceforge as well.
