Everything works fine in the game except the mouse movement. It acts normal for some seconds and then slows down. And then acts normal again for some seconds and then slows down etc. Can someone please help? The game is unplayable like this.

I haven't experienced this, so I'm not sure if I can help.

Sounds like some periodical background process using a lot of cpu. What programs do you run simultaneously? I just heard of game booster that might help if this is the cause (or you can manually close any conflicting programs, of course). I havent tried it myself yet (game booster, http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html) but maybe give it a go.

However, you should post a bit more info about your system, OS, cpu, speed etc, or else it will be very hard to guess for anyone. Do you have this problem with other games/programs? Did this problem suddenly appear, or has it always been like this with this game? If not, what changes (if any) did you make?

I always make sure there is nothing running in the background other than the usual Vista stuff. My laptop needs all the CPU it can get. :P

OS - Vista Ultimate 32 bit
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 2.5 GHz 800 MHz FSB 6 MB L2 Cache
GPU - 8600M GT
MEMORY - 2 GB DDR2

This game is the only game that gives me such a problem. Can you give me some information about your machine? So I know what kind of OS and hardware can run Giants without any problems.

Ok, sure. I don't have a laptop though.
My main system:

OS: Vista ultimate 64-bit
CPU: AMD x4 Phenom II 3.4 GHz
RAM 4 GB DDR3
GPU: GTX 470

(New graphics adapter, yet I play 10 year old games :P)

But, when I think about it, something similar did happen to me on an older computer I have... had, just before it broke down recently. I haven't looked into it yet, other than confirming that my graphics adapter most likely broke down. The rest seems to work, but I'm about to rebuild it soon-ish so haven't tested much yet. Btw I hadn't installed Giants on that one.

What happened (just over a week ago), was that I experienced slowdowns while browsing (FYI ubuntu forums, so nothing demanding), mouse was unusably jittery. I had to move it a little, wait and see where it was, then correct it if I wanted to click something.. like close the browser. Which I never got to do. I left it for a while, and when I returned it was just "digital snow" on it. When I reset the computer, same thing.
After removing the GPU, a quick test on the internal VGA from the motherboard seems to indicate the rest works (I hope so). Lets hope thats not your case...

GPU on that one was a 8600 GT btw.

In addition, I have yet another old computer, almost identical to the above (which also is in pieces atm but for different reasons). That one I have installed Giants onto, and it works just fine as far as I can see. I have played it a little on it. Specs:

OS: Windows XP, 32-bit
CPU: AMD 64x2 Athlon, 2.5 GHz
RAM: 2 GB DDR2
GPU: GeForce 9800 GT + 8600 GT

On that one the HD suddenly decided to be unstable (sometimes not recognized in BIOS (POST), usually after warm reset I think). Things never happen alone do they.. In any case Im in the process of merging these two older computers into one good and one bad :P Gotta have one extra for LAN.

Maybe it is my mouse?

Could be. Hard to say. Tried a different one?
Maybe you touch the touchpad without thinking about it.. (Well guess not just a suggestion. Anyway those can be disabled).

Just bought the game and now I am getting this exact issue. windows 7 64bit 9800gtx+ 4gb ram mx518 mouse

Very strange, would appreciate some help
I'm having a similar problem.

Just installed the game and started it. Mouse cursor on menu screens works great, but in-game, the aiming movement is seriously borked. It acts like the sensitivity is very low, but then in certain directions, it increases dramatically, then goes back to being very low. Takes 10-20 swipes of the mouse all the way across the pad to just get it to turn 90 degrees. Increasing the sensitivity of the mouse in the options just makes it go wild when it does hit the "movement zone".

I have a Logitech MX1000 mouse, and I have the latest Logitech SetPoint software/drivers for it. I tried turning off any extended features, but it didn't make any difference.

Tried posting a support request, but the Send button spinner just spins forever.
Try force Vsync off/on in gfx driver option's
Yep, that did it. Looks like the renderer gets all the time slices without it enabled, so the input routines go wonky unless there is a lot of geometry to draw, which seems to be where the mouse sort of acts normal when looking towards it.

Thanks for the suggestion! :D
Hi!

I have the similar problem! In the Nvidia Settings, i aktivated Vsync for Giants.exe

But it didnt work. :-(
Hello everyone, I have a different problem: the game won't recognize any mouse buttons besides the left one. Which makes it kind of awkward to use with the jetpack. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Hello,
I have same issue, with this game. But with Gefoce Control Panel I can't change VSync. FPS still jumps over 300 fps and makes this mouse issue. It moves faster, then slower. Maybe any solutions anybody found?
why can't you change V-Sync in control panel..?

here are two options (post 5 and post 6):

Somehow it does not enable it for this game. But it works on all other games. I managed to limit FPS to 60 with MSI Afterburner, and mouse problem was solved. So for eveyone else who has this problem, and NVIDIA Control Panel does not help do this:

ENABLE FRAMELIMITER (60FPS) IN MSI AFTERBURNER TO FIX MOUSE ISSUES FOR THIS GAME.

That worked for me, hope it will work for others :)
