Any movies that you like that everyone else seems to hate?

For me one of them is Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Loved that movie especially the directors edition.

I'm a fan of that one too.

A few others of mine (not so much that everyone seems to hate them, but because most people I know give me odd looks when I say I like them):

Logan's Run
Fletch
Lost in Space
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
John Carter
Total Recall (2012)

madth3: The Fifth Element
Who doesn't like this one? It's excellent!

Is that new total recall anything more like the short story?
Far and away, my top one is "Resident Evil."

I have a soft spot of the 1995 "Judge Dredd," which I saw when it came out. It was pretty terrible, but the air conditioning was SO GOOD on the fainting-hot day when I saw it that I still like it a little all these years later.
Matrix Reloaded. The third part of the series is awful, but this one... I do not know, I kinda like it.
Exqueeze me?

Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Logan's Run, and the 1st Star Trek are all beloved movies. In fact I don't think I've ever met anyone who has seen those and didn't love them. Now that I think about it, every time the mention of Logan's Run remake comes about people get super pissed convinced that it would be like doing a remake of Citizen Kane or The Godfather.

I've not read the story, so I can't say for certain. But from what I understand it's supposed to be truer to the source material. I thought they did a good job with the movie, with some good action sequences and even a nod to the original Arnie film. Certainly far better, IMO, than I was given to expect.

I've met tons of people who hate the first trek but like 2, 4, 6,8 and so on.

And have made mocking titles to it "The motionless picture" etc.

There is the whole 'fan cult' aspect with Logan's Run, but I've met a lot of people that turn their noses up at the mention of the movie (if they actually know what it is).

I love that movie. My gf could not believe Hugo Weaving was that same guy playing Lord Elrond.

I have to check that one. I missed it in the cinema for some reason I can't remember.

Most people I know found it silly, which is why I love it.

I even played the game of The Fifth Element... but not for long.
Any snuff film.
Too many to list, though Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins sits firmly at the top of the heap.

And every wonderful member of the Andy Sidaris film library. I've seen 'em all at least three times.

On a sidenote, I just ordered the Trancers 5-movie collection (Complete Deth, I believe it's called?). Charles Band with (shockingly) no little people and Tim Thomerson at his absolutely best.

...Wait, do any of these count as guilty pleasures? I certainly don't FEEL guilty watching them. :P
