We're all fanboys for a certain special game. That one game that's really close to our hearts. That one game you've put an uncountable number of hours into.
What's yours?
Certainly the guys on IRC already know mine... and you can probably tell by my avatar which game is mine.
Crusader: No Remorse
I've played this game more than any other, and I can probably play the game blindfolded.
Here's some evidence of my love... check out the pictures.
EDIT: Added some more pictures

I got this very same american big box edition... I bought it on eBay long ago but never played it.
Also, my fanboy games are Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 (I've played them 6 or 7 times each) and FF7 (another 6 or 7 playthorughs).
I have nothing that comes even close, not the same league, not the same sport!
The closest thing I've come to proper fanboyism is occasionally checking the view askew merchandise website every now and then and trying to argue that I would get lots of use out of a Silent Bob overcoat.
Game wise, I sold or lost all my Ultima stuff in various moves about the place, at one time though I did have a couple of cloth maps, various other maps and trinkets and two massive storybook type strategy guides. (aside from the games themselves, and the compilation)
The Wheel of Time. I used to play that online at every oppurtunity for many years. As TheMadHatter I ws known for awesome ability and lightning capping speed... oh wait... Sorry.
I WAS known for having high ping when everyone else started getting faster and gaster internet.
But it was fantastic funa nd well worth playingtoday if you can find a copy. I'm hoping for GoG.com personally ;)

I'm a serious fan of the Fallout universe, so much so I started making things from the games as physical models. I've attached pictures of two of the things I've made, but I also have a Stimpak, Nuka Grenade and Vault Suit :)
There is just something about the post-apocalyptic world which resonates with me. I also love Art Nouveau/Deco and 50's style which is something that has always been at the root of Fallout's artistic direction.
I have countless play-throughs under my belt for each game, for Fallout 3 I know that I have spent over 300 hours (in total) playing the game; its impressive but almost embarrassing. I think its the combination of the style, RPG and turn based elements that just makes it the only series which I really love.
I would say I still can find faults with the games, but if we put technicalities aside I cant find anything wrong with the games as they really have built their own universe, which also is expandable.

Me? 3000AD's titles, Stronghold series, Ultima series and Elder Scrolls series.
I am madly in love with you, and these games.

Wow! Those are really nice.
Ur-Quan Masters, nay Star Control II. It's charming and fun and has incredibly high production values. It's also one of the best science fiction stories ever told in video games, and a faithful novelization would be a page-turner too. It made 1992 a great year for exploration games.
I've still got the original starmap. Ah, the starmap! Political boundaries, constellations, coreward, spinward ... I miss the days when good extra stuff came in those video game boxes.
The community rebuild of the UQM takes it to new heights with stellar remixed music and support for modern hardware. You can't go wrong with it!

I honestly don't have a collection like that for any kind of a game, but I wish I could have stuff like that for my all-time favourite game: System Shock.
I've got a bunch of Diablo stuff though, I never collected them, they kinda just piled up.

Vagabond: Wow! Those are really nice.

Thank you :) Its not very clear in the photos, but I also did all the information on the back too. I had some serious fun writing the side effects for Buffout.

Buffout is cool. The Nokacola is really cool.
Strategy games...
I really don't have a specific game, but strategies are my favorite!
I have a few games that I keep returning to and still enjoy. I suppose those are my fanboy games. Two of them have already been mentioned here, namely Crusader: No Remorse and Star Control II aka The Ur-Quan Masters. Then, from the C64 I have Wizball, and from the Amiga, Deuteros: The Next Millennium.
Finally though, my all-time fanboy game will have to be Dungeon Keeper 1.
/me sneaks around the forum, tapping all who are patrolling in predictable paths on the back of the head and dumping their bodies in a pile right in the anteroom of Balford's Manor. Many things are stolen or pickpocketed. Cynical and snide comments ensue.
Diablo II played on closed battle.net servers. Have come and gone from the realms 3 times since 2001. Too many punk 13 year old kids spending their parent's money on items from sites and forum gold from d2jsp.org, game has gone downhill a lot on the servers though and it pretty pointless since it's just grind levels in bot games where you don't actually kill anything and run the same areas and monsters over and over and over and over looking for loot.
Still had a of of fun with it though
