tinyE: I went to a really good high school and I am a college graduate but when I picked up AC a few years ago it became evident that in the grand scheme of things I am a blithering idiot, :) I appreciate the rec but I have never been able to even start to crack Sid's games. I'm a civil war historian and I couldn't even get through the start up menu of Gettysburg. Thanks anyway!
Two games might be spot on for you:

Age of wonders - turn based fantasy game, similar to HOMM3, but it's more like a master of orion spiritual ancestor. IMHO it's way better and more tactical than HOMM3

Imperialism - great turn based strategy that will keep you occupied for months. It doesn't require fast thinking :P
Glad I bought it a while ago. :3
Thank God I bought at start of sale
Will be sad to see it go though because more people need this amazing game

Neilk40: Thanks for the heads up.

Good job i bought XIII in a sale earlier this year.

Recommend anybody who hasn't got this game to get it quickly before its gone, it's a great game with the best version on PC.

DCT: Same here I nabbed it along with Duke 3D, Unreal Gold, and Blood 1&2, when it was a part of that FPS sale GOG had awhile back. I also second the recommendation it is a good game with a really nice comic book style to it.
Yes i think that was the sale i picked it up from also along with some games on your list, i think i picked up Blood 1 from an earlier sale, love the cel shading in XIII, it was unique on its release back in late 2003 though Jet Set Radio beat it to it but not on PC.

MDyzzle: XIII will be removed from our catalog at the end of 2012.

It will NOT be removed from your accounts, but you will not be able to buy it anymore.
Can we have an official word on the current situation on this :

I would like to invest on a couple of distant future XIII giveaways, but I need confirmation on feasability.
Holy Guacamole!

gameon: Holy Guacamole!
couldn't have said it better myself
I'd like to second the request for a confirmation that gift copies bought now will be safe later.
Another game from my wishlist going away :(
Hope it will be back to gog at some point.

I think it's better to contact GOG.com's support. Forum answers may come too late.

As of the game itself, I'm not going to miss it. It's one of the worst I've ever played. There's many situations, where you have only a stealthy approach and I don't like the way the game implements it.

Try Startopia, unless you have it already, or unless you have something against all management games. If you find the mid- to late-stage campaign too intense, you can always try the free-play mode. It's full of good humour and charm. In terms of game mechanics, it's probably a lot like some of the Bullfrog games, but the Biodeck (where you grow plants for trade and try to keep your aliens happy) is unique in the genre, I think.
Go buy it, it's quite good. Doesn't look too bad on large screens either. Luckily I have it, but it will be missed.

I managed to shoot my way through entire game as far as I can recall.

I want to know this too...
Thanks for the heads up.
Shame to see it go

I wish the game was made that way.
I like "No one Lives Forever" for that. You may go stealthy or you may just shoot everything!

Unfortunately, XIII was not what I expected. But it's my personal taste. Many others like it.
