Because you need to not have fun, to realize when you're having fun with some other game!

Because every time you read silly dialogue that could've been written by a nine-year-old kid in an otherwise decent RPG, you want to fire up your copy of TW2 to remind yourself what REAL writing in a computer game is.

The great..
1. Story is excellent and original. Especially if you are used to the bioware 'recruit party and kill boss you saw in first minutes' tripe.
2. Morality system is fantastic. Often there is no correct choice, both have good and bad outcomes.
3. CDProjekt are the best developer on earth atm. Giving loads of free content and producing a great game without DRM. Anyone who knows of them, likes them.
4. Its quite hard, going as far as have a perma-death difficulty level.
5. Roche and Iorveth are simply great characters.
The bad...
1. Facial animations suck a bit.
2. Its a fairly lonely experience if you are used to having companions around. In TW2 they just sit at home or do their own thing. You end up meeting alot of people but not really getting to know them.
3. Triss voice actor still annoys me. Preferred TW1's.
4. Potion drinking before battles is unfriendly to most people, as they feel its a waste whenever a timer ticks down when not in combat. Takes a while to get over it.

You don't really need to own The Witcher 2 - just get someone who does to give you the serial number and you can get it for free on GOG ;-)

For the negatives though, as with any RPG item management can get a bit tedious (though maybe I'm the kind of guy that hoards items a bit much) and sometimes the flow of the combat could get better. Using keyboard and mouse in FPS's can work but the kind of combat I see in The Witcher might seem better if they did it differently.

Oh sorry, I forgot to say that I'm not in, which entitles me to say: It's all the awesome that makes it the most awesome thing ever :-P Seriously tho, the reasons why I love The Witcher can not be brought to light without spoiling the game.

Thanks KTC for the giveaway.
I haven't played Witcher 2 (or Witcher 1 for that matter) yet. Mainly due to a backlog of games, but my system can't handle Witcher 2 as it stands. I'm working on that though, and am trying to save up for a new rig in the next few months.
What I can tell you is from the reviews and videos I've seen, the game is a definite AAA RPG. Something that has a great story, characters, depth, and of course combat. And it's more directed towards adults and not teens or pre-teens. That kind of mature approach makes it attractive to older gamers such as myself. :)
Oh, and put me down for Europa Universalis 3 Chronicles for the random drawing.

Well, this didn't go as well as I planned...
Anyway, keeping this open for a few hours, then mailing the codes.

Well it is difficult to say what is so amazing about the Witcher 2, as the amazing parts are what comes out of playing the game, and giving these away would severely reduce their impact on a first time player. So all you actually can do is tell the stuff 'everybody' knows - great story, great writing, fantastic graphics, solid combat, not all that amazing inventory.
