Adzeth: At some point I considered making a custom css for a pink theme so I could feel pretty when I browse GOG.. can't remember why I decided not to.
Probable assassination attempts by the fashion police might have been a factor.

But what do I know? No metallic theme, forum? GFY.
OMG, I just went blind!!!
Now I remember the reason.

I don't even get why people are calling it white. Light, sure, but there's no white anywhere that I can see (and the other one is dark, not black). Stop turning your brightness and/or contrast up to eleven, people, please.

That said, I do prefer the light theme.
Here I was thinking "Oh, there's white now?" And then realized I'm already using it - except to me it looks like varying shades of grey.

Pemptus: Am I the only one who doesn't have the monitor's brightness cranked up to 100? I've been using the white theme since forever!

Guys... am I... am I a freak? :(

Damuna: No, I use the light theme too. :D
So do I

Good, very good.
Is no one able to properly adjust the brightness and contrast of their monitor?
Well, I managed to turn the forum pink, but it's still only parts of it. White-looking text on a bright pink background sure makes for some easy reading. GIMP's color picker suggests that the white looking text on the forums is actually light green. Most fascinating, or maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Making a proper one would take some time. I was supposed to spend this time studying Mathematical Logic. Funny how these projects always make me forget the university stuff :p
White theme, dark theme... doesn't matter, as long as I've got no motion/simulator sickness from it. It is not the color, it is the perspective.

Depends on the monitor, some people have some really bright monitors. I still remember my 300:1 contrast ratio monitor from years back, and that was as bright as you could get at the time.

Also, being blind sucks.

It probably it still is. "Dynamic contrast" ratios are lies, nothing more or less.

For me, even with Dynamic Contrast turned off (and it should be turned off), I still had to turn the Brightness setting of my monitor down to 0 and adjust gamma slightly in Catalyst Control Centre to get an accurate picture.

I suggest people use the following pages to adjust their monitor and gamma settings properly:

Well, no, the more recent monitors I've bought are definitely brighter by the ratio that one would expect going from 300:1 to 1000:1, or a bit over 3 times as bright.

grynn: I accidentally clicked that white dot and now I'm half-blind :(
The light theme is the only readable theme offered. The darker one is horrible. It's like the Steam forums, really hard on the eyes.

Or in other words, different people, different monitor setups, etc., make for different tolerances.
I look the light theme because it further distinguishes GOG from Steam.
