I can't remember any specific thing that I found (I used to look for old records there/vinyl,) but I always enjoyed talking to the people there.
For the most part, they were just real, unpretentious people, and apart from the unusual oddball that you might encounter, they were a pleasure to get to know outside of the bs hustle and bustle world outside of the doors.

Two I feel are worth bragging about:
Final Fantasy Anthology (FFs 4 and 5) and FF9 for PS1. Boxed in practically new condition with manuals. £3 each.
An original Xbox, again practically new, with three controllers and a game (Total Overdose) for £16.
I'm absurdly happy with both of these.

Today I saw in the window of a Charity Shop "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" Extended edition that includes Enemy Territory for the princely sum of 25 pence or i think that is roughly 18 cents for you US folks
Edit: dics and manual all looked in good condition etc. Its the DVD case version and the DVD case has some damage to the corner but i likely have about 100 of the cases in the loft.

The best find I made at a thrift store is The Longest Journey, original 4 CD version in box. $2 only too.
Edit: make that MechWarrior 3 Gold box and all. :)

I SUMMON YOU, OH LONG FORGOTTEN CONTAINMENT OF SCRIPTURE
Necromancy out of the way, let's get to the meat!
Homeworld $1
Caesar 2 $1
C&C Red Alert $1
C&C Tiberian Sun $1\
Rainbow Six Rogue Spear $2
Sims 2 $4
Project I.G.I $2 (EXTREMELY EXCITED ABOUT THIS ONE)
These are all jewel cases with no manuals, but the discs look good with no real dirt or scratches on them.

Damn, those are some good finds!
Not a game, but I did find a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick for $2 at a thrift shop.
I also got Baldur's Gate II with all expansions(CD's only) for $10 at a flea market.

Divine Divinity back in Brussels ... probably not that much later after the time of initial publishing.
I still remember this rambling store, off Woluwé-St-Pierre, with only a marginal area for gaming items, but there I found this gem that introduced me to Larian. What happy twist of faith!
Another favourite item of mine is "seaman's chest imitation" of sorts bought back in Scottsdale Arizona, still happily performing the dual function of coffee table / storage at my living room. Cannot say I recall having seen any first hand thereafter, so what a find!
Besides, I love second hand clothes' and shoes' shopping - but one is easily a Casanova with those, lol.

I don't think I've ever found anything decent at a thrift store, for any of my hobbies.
But I do have one cool find in my old condo building. The entryway table sort of became the unofficial giveaway table for the building. Bought too much bread? Leave a loaf or two on the table. Had some books you were tired of? Leave them on the table. Random things would appear on the table about once a week.
One day, a box of old software was sitting there. The usual suspects like Baldur's Gate and Sim City, but mixed in with that 'modern' fare was a boxed copy of the old King's Bounty on floppy disk. I've played more Heroes of Might and Magic in my life than every other game combined, so finding the original version of it sitting in my hallway was quite the blessed day.

Honestly, my most notable finds were probably The Operative: No One Lives Forever, one of the most entertaining shooters I have played, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I and II.

Star Wars Trilogy for $4. The box was a little beat up, but the discs looked fine.
