it's amazing what a dedicated mod team can do
I'm going to define "recently" as "within the last two weeks" in which case my answer is Sleeping Dogs. Great game, fun gameplay, strong story, excellent setting, beautiful graphics etc etc, just a really good game all around.

deadfolk: Lego Marvel Superheroes.

First game I've ever completed the story and then hung around to pick up collectibles. I'm still at ~27% complete!

Flying and vehicle controls suck big time, though. Like, literally the worst I've ever used. And no invert y-axis option. Really frustrating on the races.

I'm not really selling this, am I? :P
Ah I am there with you. I love the game (at 31% at the moment^^) but you are completely right, the vehicle control us really bad... but to be fair, if you have played any other Lego games, you were expecting this, since the vehicle control almost always sucked... but still great games :D
Might and Magic 10. While it's not quite as good as World of Xeen, it's still a damn good return to form for the series, and a long overdue entry in a nearly extinct subgenre.
Bioshock Infinite here, hadn't finished a game in many months, great game overall but not much replayability.

Have so many games that I haven't started yet, the blame goes on the promos :D I just keep buying. I'm thinking about starting Deus Ex Human Revolution or maybe one of the D&D RPGs.

KOC: dark souls ii, but I knew it was gonna be good :-)
Yeah I loved DS2 I played it on the PS3 and couldn't stop till I beat it
Mark Of The Ninja
A Valley Without Wind
FTL

Enjoying all three of these that I started recently. Mark Of The Ninja plays great and handles beautifully with an Xbox controller. A Valley Without Wind is interesting and blends settlement management with side-scrolling combat/exploration. FTL is a great space roguelike that is extremely challenging. All recommended.
Recently...Would be Metro 2033. It has action, adventure, mystery and intrigue. Also Bioshock Infinite and Miasmata. I usually have two or three going at once. They are all different from each other, so I play according to my mood of the moment. :)
Best game I have played recently... Maybe Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate. It's just a fun game.
Project X Zone is also really, really good. Tekken 3 as well. Yoshi's New Island was a lot better than I anticipated, it's actually really good. Bravely Default feels good, but I haven't gotten hardly anywhere yet, so I 'm not certain. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge is okay.

^ This! Its possibly the best stealth game I've ever played and I've played Thief (the first one) and Splinter Cell (also the first one)

Plus Fable and Jade Empire both had me hooked! GTA:SA, of course, too

Licurg recommended I pull it out of my stash and play it, and he was damn right. I only hope he's enjoying as much my return recommendation of doing the same with Rocketbirds. Love that game, if anyone picked it up in the recent bundle and hasn't tried it, please give it a go.

Another great stealth game is Gunpoint. On the short side but loads of fun, especially the rewiring aspect.
Ripley's Believe It or Not!: The Riddle of Master Lu

I expected it to be a good game, but was totally unprepared for its awesomeness.
