That one's already on the OP.

I've been looking at it since it started. If I get some extra funds this month, I'm definitely giving them a boost.
Aterdux is "only" asking 50K for Legends of Eisenwald.
Their game is close to beta-test and they only received 18K within 10 Days ?! And only because Stoic mentioned it in their last update to The Banner Saga ( LoE had only 8K pledges before that ).

I hope after Shadowrun ends at nearly 2M, there will be more backers for LoE.
And Grim Dawn...
And Starlight Inception...

Anyway, has anyone ever played Discord Times ? It's included with 2 copies of Legends of Eisenwald at the 25$ tier and all I found about it is "Hard-core".

If you don't mind the client, you can try it free for 1 hour on Bigfish - http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-games/1705/discord-times/index.html

It's all about marketing. People don't normally care to suss out good projects. They usually depend on word of mouth, without committing any effort into researching its background. I admit even I get easily excited about a project that markets itself really well. Marketing is really the key to successful funding; everything else, including a prototype, is a subset of it.

For that matter, check out Dark Meridian. It's also quite well-developed, but have you heard a whisper about it other than on this thread? I bet if the team made the effort to really market the project, rather than just create a KS page and hope people visit it, they'd easily hit $50K.

It sucks for LoE that they haven't gotten much up till now, but really, the same can be said for a lot of other good projects. If you don't get the public hyped up about your product right from the get go to build momentum, or there is misinformation, then you risk failing. It's a very ostentatious market.

Given the easy $2m reward, it wouldn't surprise me if he puts the dragon and kitten in whether or not we hit the mark. It's mostly there symbolically to encourage people to get on board. I can't imagine it costing even $10k to add.

Honestly, I'm pledging in at $16 just because I doubt very much that it's going to be funded. I have the money if it does get funded, but I'll likely pull my pledge if they exceed their goal before the end. Plus, right now they need some momentum.

Or, maybe not, it does look like a really cool idea.

Looks like someone tried to scam kickstarters into backing a fake project but the internet hawks soon spotted the copied material: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/273246798/mythic-the-story-of-gods-and-men/comments

The important thing to realize is that whether or not it's a scam, having a dispute over the ownership of content that's intended for the game isn't good and can lead to a loss of funds.
I wish there were an Aquaria 2 kickstarter.

45 more hours to go! It's probably going to be free, but donating gives you early access to the beta.

Man, Nekro is so close to getting funded! I hope it gets the remaining 5K needed!

The geek in me is tempted to pledge just because all the rewards are at powers of two, but I don't think that a good enough reason to give away money.

Nekro looks alright, but I didnt back due to it apparently not having base building :P
I wish I had my own Kickstarter which helped me make a great game that would make me some big money, so that I could take that money and put it (or at least 5% of it) back into Kickstarter.

That seems a bit odd to me too. You promise to take other people's money that could be used to work on the project that you've promised to do and give it to somebody else. And this is somehow a good thing?

What's more you tell everybody that you're going to do it and they're somehow more inclined to hand over large sums of money.

I like the idea, but I don't really have money to throw at projects that are already funded at this point. The whole Dark Median pledge is my last one, and that ones likely to get dropped if they get above their goal. But, I suspect that they won't make their goal. Which would be a shame.

It surprises me how often people misunderstand the premise of the 'kicking it forward' pledge. The promise is to put 5% of PROFITS back into kickstarter, not 5% of pledges. The idea is to put all money from the kickstarter into the game/whatever, making a theoretically great game that sells well and makes lots of profits. Since those profits wouldn't have been possible without the intial kickstarter, some companies pledge to return a small part of their post-release profits back into kickstarter.
