Tizzysawr: Yeah you got that from me. However, I think you missed the part where I was making fun of the idiocy of the project and how clearly the kickstarter has absolutely no clue about game development :P

lowyhong: Ah you're right I only skimmed thru the Kickstarter. Well at least we can have a good laugh about it :D
That project looks pretty stupid indeed and will certainly fail... and I think it highlights exactly how not to use kickstarter.

or maybe an example of how kickstarter actually works? this will never reach the goal, and therefore not get funded. Only good projects, or viable projects, will be successful.

Yeah, my main problem with 8-bit Funding is that they take the money straight away. If you're the only person who donates and they don't make it anywhere near their goal, I don't think you get a refund or anything. Just a "sorry, looks like we're not making the game, but thanks for the money".
I've heard that the turn based, strategy RPG The banner Saga will be starting a kickstarter on Monday, it looks interesting and absolutely gorgeous

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective Adventure Mysteries

Another old-school dev bringing back some point'n'click nostalgia, David Marsh has obtained the rights to the old ICOM adventures (like Shadowgate, Deja Vu, Uninvited). Apparently the plan is to port them to mobiles, and he's starting with the FMV Sherlock Holmes games.

You get all 9 games for PC/MAC DRM-free. They're going back to the uncompressed footage to make the FMV high quality, and if there's enough funding, they're going to make some new episodes.

EC-: Wasteland 2

That's the only one I am interested in.
I'll second that. I'm hoping (and believing) it will be good enough for me to actually manage to play the original game.

Great! I can't wait to see what reward tiers they have.

I think it's the same, really. This is how kickstarter works, and therefore this project is a fine example of what a project starter should not do if he wants to be successful.

What do they mean by 'Chapter 1 content' under the $10 tier?

I assume because they are doing a saga you will have it in episodic format.

Wasteland 2
That Sherlock Holmes project looks interesting, but I hate it when they don't fully detail where the money is going.
Flur: Blades of the Universe is well worth funding.

Great art, great looking atmosphere just needs support.

tarangwydion: I wish Corey and Lori Ann Cole would start a kickstarter project on a new Quest for Glory game...
