i am obsessed with rythm games.
Guitar hero. Rockband. Dance Dance revelution etc
Yes i even play singstar and i cant sing. how sad is that
Isn´t this the whole purpose of Singstar??? : )
Real RPG's (not Diablo or JRPG's), adventure games, "realistic" shooters, and "mindless" shooters.

[I was going to write something very childish here, but this will suffice]
:O
anyways on topic:
Fallout 2 and same era games, most of my friends are graphics whores and can't stand the fact that I still play and enjoy games from the mid to late 90s.
My gaming obsession is re-rolling. I can't play stat-based games without compulsively re-rolling my character over and over again for some reason. Even in MMOs it's rare for me to reach higher levels without re-rolling. ):

i do the same thing.
When i played WOW i had about 30 charecters. highest level 27
in any rpg that will allow me to i compulsively skill up my characters to dual wield with very high dexterity. every character build i've had for as long as i can remember has been melee only, dexterity based. i dislike ranged combat in rpgs.
conversely, in fps games i'm a sniper. i avoid close combat whenever possible.
also, with the current and notable exception of the witcher, i have a difficult time playing games where my character cant jump. i haven't figured this last one out at all.

Same here. I'm 44 and play games like NWN, NWN2, The Witcher, Fallout, etc. (I don't watch tv). My wife thinks I'm nuts.

Coelocanth: (I don't watch tv).

at some point in the early 90s, i came home to find my roommate sitting on the couch watching television. she'd had earphones on, didn't hear me, and i was just struck at how lifeless she looked while watching it.
ever since i have been fascinated by watching people watch television. there's something very creepy about that particular blank stare. creeps me out.
when i watch television, i always feel self-conscious that i look the same.
I love being Evil in RPG`s if they allow it and laughing out loud in front of my Monitor with my Eyes rolled back in my Skull while stealing from / killing the Innocent......ofc that also explains why i am Single atm oO

I would do that too, but most games tend to have a more developed storyline on the good side. :(
Being of the older crowd, I like to use my brain. Hence liking older games. Darklands (1995 Microprose RPG) Brain use out of 10 - 11. Morrowind Brain use - out of 10- 9. Oblivion Brain use out of 10- 7 Fallout 3 Brain use out of 10- (projected) 5.... !!!
If that's what I think of RPG's, you can imagine what I think RTS's with no more base building and supply-lines, and shooters with their ever more shallow repetitive stories and characters have become!
So as the year turned into 2003 I turned more and more to retro games for my 'brain entertainment'. it's taken a while, but at last I have a lot of gamers to talk to now and it's not so lonely. I get less weird responses too on forum threads etc! :)

Right now the game I'm obsessed with that everyone else thinks is crazy is Master of Magic. It was released in 1993 and is basically Civilization with swords and sorcery (and turn-based tactical combat). I played the demo when it came out, but my 14 year old self just didn't have the patience for a complex, turn-based empire-building game (even if it had trolls and orcs and chimeras). Suffice it to say that these days the graphics don't impress and no one understands why I would want to spend hours hitting "Next Turn", but I just can't stop myself :)
