anjohl: Apatheism sounds close to my overal worldview regarding religion, sure.
But the swimming pool is a lot deeper than that, and you will want a stronger rope than a wiki to get down there.
I have stated before, when using the popular definition, I am VERY arrogant. The reason for this is because I don't believe in humility. In fact, I don't believe in ANYTHING, but humility I actively scorn. If I have a talent or ability, I will not waste energy hiding it or downplaying it.
So, to an individual only used to being around people who all agree on this ridiculous mutual "social contract" of medicority, I will come off as aloof, arrogant, a jerk, etc.
Now, I am 1/3 of those above all the time, and 2/3's more than enough. But, to paint me with your broad brush as a "troll" illustrates a glaring lack of observation. I have intentionally posted comments on this site to incite a reaction TWICE, and TWICE only.
It's hard to tell when someone is acting very aggressively, but I do agree on some points of what you say.
True agnosticism do exist. But I find it very close to apatheism, in the way that agnosticism can, in a very simple way, be summed up with "I don't know", and that apatheism is "I don't know, and I don't care". Some people consider themselves agnostic, but are actually deists, but it's all a question of definition, which is then igtheism. With all this different labels, the "strong" and "weak" atheism labels are basically redundant.
I don't dwell much on it, but when I think into it, I would overall consider myself an atheist, as in that I don't see anything that directly proves the existence of a deity, and that there are several things that mankind will probably still discover, and many more that we probably won't, but that can turn both ways, and beyond that I don't actually care. Which in the end actually makes me an apatheist, with a strong distaste to any major organised religion, because of what it can do to people. Yay, definitions. And I could still go on, if I could be bothered.
So, I think I actually agree with you on several points, apart from interpretations I would call more personal.
By the way, the wiki was just for the definitions, as they usually get that right, and I won't have to start explaining it in my half-assed manner.
EDIT:
Oh, and I never said anything about humility. You should never hold back, but that doesn't mean you have to be an asshole, and start insulting when people don't understand what you mean with your statements. By doing so, you make yourself seem less credible, and easy to brush aside as a troll.
