deshadow52: So sorry if I end up sounding like a complete idiot but this whole Russia thing has been bothering me ever since i've been hearing about it. Should I be scared of the world going to hell or is it blown out of proportion?

pds41: You live in Canada - that's miles from any potential flashpoint.
Oh well I was more thinking World War 3 where it wasn't really going to matter where you live. Part of me is saying i'm just paranoid and the other is just think oh shit we're fucked

JudasIscariot: Well, there was supposed to be an eagle without a crown but Wikipedia is weird about that link :/
Oh, I saw the crownless eagle, that's why I said ouch, sorry.
It's starting to feel like the Cold War all over again. I'm old enough to remember those days. Back in the late 1980s quite a few people were still worried about a nuclear war between NATO and the Warsaw Pact.

Ah OK, because when I clicked on it I got some message about thumbnails or something...

Yeah, oddly enough your link worked once for me, second time clicked it I got that message. Wikipedia is weird. Maybe it's *trying* to tell us to never let go of that crown again. :P

Also the article posted by Barry offends me. "We’d be bound to help - as we did in 1939". It just leaves me speechless. I was counting on nothing less than "but not like in 1939 - this time for real!". It's disturbing to see that the west is still that delusional when it comes to World War II.

Since Harper is poking his nose and bitching like a USA's bitch, lol you should be worried if Putin wants to make Canada their alaska
Nobody wants to annex Poland, i can say it as Russian. No, really, we have some neutral-to-cold feelings to each other, but to annex Poland?
First, its in EU, right? So, annex would lead to freaking real war - nobody wants it
Second, dont see any real gains from annexing Poland in material way, only thing we import from there is apples...

blotunga: And put a sickle instead... On the other hand it could mean Russian prices for games, not sure if worth the tradeoff though :P

JudasIscariot: Actually, we'd just go from to [url=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/56/Coat_of_Arms_of_Poland_%281955-1980%29.svg/500px-Coat_of_Arms_of_Poland_%281955-1980%29.svg.png]this
Sweden

lukaszthegreat: and steaks. don't forget.
Right now Russia imports most of "animal" meat from Brasil, so...
I took the liberty of feeding the possibility of a Russian invasion of Poland into my battle computer and this is what it predicted.
