I like their songs. Don't know anything about the band itself.
Same reason I cant stand Lady Gaga; over rated, over played, and just pure trash.
Just my opinion.

Lady Gaga is easily more talented than Nickelback. She actually has a little bit of a knack for melody writing. Key word there is "little." Nothing at all deserving of her fame, but at least she's distinguishable from a county fair grandstand act.

Actually, there are lots of far worse pop artists out there than Lady Gaga. She only really gets hated on because she's so in-your-face "look at me" about everything.

Not that she ISN'T trash, but still... -__-

Huh, the overplayed part I can understand, at least for some bands. I'm not a big Led Zeppelin fan, probably because I feel their songs are overplayed on classic rock stations.

ceeker: I used to hate Nickelback. I thought they were the perfect example of what's wrong with music today - generic, boring, lowest common denominator rubbish.

Then I heard this.
I was in a pretty good mood today. :(

Nowadays, radio stations have like 10 CDs to play. It's what it feels like to me when I (rarely) listen to any kind of radio station. Whether they play Dio, Led Zep or Pantera, it always is the same freaking song again again and again.

If I had enough time on my hands for that, I would subscribe to satellite radios.

Where is this magical land that plays Dio, Led Zeppelin, and Pantera on the radio?

Then I heard .
Are they for real? I thought at first that it was a parody like Jon LaJoie's [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijr4rwb2WbE]pop song.
As far as generic goes, Nickelback has nothing at all on Shawn Mullins, just saying.

If not, here [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRhBa3qbues]you go. But no- Nickelback isn't bad, just boring. It doesn't do anything interesting for me. It's not something I'd go out of my way to avoid, is what I'm saying. I just wouldn't seek it out.

Now, pop in general, that I can loathe.
Hipsters need SOMETHING to hate.
Yeah, it's for real. And they have fans. They actually hit the charts.

Nah, a friend showed it to me. I hadn't seen that video - it was all terrible (except for Tunak Tunak Tun which is more amusing than bad), but not quite as bad as brokencyde.

Actually, I think the youtube comments are what REALLY made that video both terribad and hilarious at the same time for me.

I giggled the whole time while thinking, "it's like they're fucking 4 years old with potty mouths!"
