There are games that never get hyped much in the media and aren't considered milestones of their genre, but still success in accumulating a modding community so large and dedicated, that you could say the development of such title never really stopped. Such is the case of Knights & Merchants, a medieval real-time strategy with in-depth society simulation and epic-scaled armies. Even though the game came out in 2001, a community of talented fans doesn't stop in their effort to, fix and tweak it, make it enjoyable for the modern gamer, and support it with all the features the fanbase demands. All this goes towards a impressive mod, that we recently featured in one of our Mod Spotlight editorial. Get the game for only $1.79. check out the mod, and witness the magic of PC gaming community!

Not really fond of historical setting? Would you rather take a plunge into a fantastic realm quite different than our reality? The magical land you'll be visiting in Two Worlds: Epic Edition should easily satisfy all your escapism needs with its vast and lush gameworld, visuals that remain quite impressive even today, and a well-told story that often lets you digress from its main thread. The Epic Edition we offer you, comes bundled with the game's both expansions: Tainted Blood and Curse of Souls. Yours for only $2.99! The bigger, better, and more--erm--magical sequel, Two Worlds 2: Epic Edition, also complete with all the extensions and bundled with two great MP3 soundtracks, is also available 70% off (that's $5.99).

I'm only missing 4 games, but can't really buy them. My budget is stretched thin. Oh well. I doubt these will be removed anytime soon...
Really only interested in Septerra Core and maybe the Two Worlds games. Unfortunately, I hear Septerra Core is a buggy mess. Is it worth buying?

I'd say no, but not because of the bugs. I found the game to be an empty shell, the only thing I really liked about it was the setting. Gotta give credit where it's due, Septerra core has one of the most interesting setting I've encountered so far.

However, the characters weren't very interesting, writing wasn't anything to write home about, combat was annoying, but the worst part was the area design: boring corridors with repeating aesthetics, very little personality, almost no interaction, and respawning monsters everytime you leave an area.

Frankly I couldn't bring myself to finish the game, even after I started cheating to instantly win fights because I couldn't take it anymore. Might be the only game I actually regret getting on GOG.

Well, that's my opinion anyway, so take it for what it is. Some people seem to think it's a great game, but I can't see what they enjoy about it.

Thanks. I think I'll pass then.

I think it's a good game with an interesting setting, the style reminds me of JRPGs.The GOG version runs fine without any gamebreaking bugs as far as i played. It just has too many random fights which become quite tiresome and that might be a turn off for many people.
But i'd say it's worth a try for just $1.79 if you can live with lots of random battles and a not groundbreaking but still decent story (IMO).
sepultrra core

its a mid 90s console rpg on the pc... i think this was an attempt for a ps1 type of rpg on the pc ... infact all the reviews said "if you like first gen ps1/snes rpgs this is for you

its antiquated now as in random unavoidable fights pedestriad story and linear story but it should quench the jrpg/console rpg thirst that so many have these days you just have to tske off the nostaliga glasses and remeber the down side like random battles cliched story ect

I got this game like 15 years ago in a jewel case along with battle engine shogo for 9.99 its hard to find becuase the engine maker got bought by nintendo and makes nintendo stuff now

KingOfDust: I started cheating to instantly win fights because I couldn't take it anymore.
That's where I started enjoying it :)
Combat: overcomplicated utter crap.
Story: mediocre (actually side stories, like zombie plague or the mer taking over the town were far more interesting than the main quest).
Characters: acceptable (but the only party member I remember was a deep core alien...).
Setting: interesting.
Overall, worth $3 :)

JudasIscariot: I am not sure as I don't deal with the technical side all that much but if you, or anyone else, experience those problems please write to Support. The more unique system configurations we have, the better the chance that we can find the problem or problems :)

HypersomniacLive: Well, I'm reluctant at buying it if it's not fixed, as I'm not going to play it right away and don't feel like going back and forth with support, sorry.

Could somebody from support chime in and provide a clear answer? Or do I need to ask support directly?
It doesn't look like anyone answered this but I know about the sound issue.

The background noise is really loud for the intro part of the game. Once the intro has finished you can go in to the setting and lower the background noise to an acceptable level.

I did have any issues with it crashing at the start of the game

Thanks for the reply, I submitted a support ticket just in case.

And I assume you meant that you did not have any intro crashing?

I did not have any crashes during the intro

Thought so. If you don't mind, what are the specs of the PC you played it on?

I really wanted Gorky 17, but I don't think it will play nice with my graphics card. Shame. =(
