Miasmata, the Geneforge Saga, Hotline Miami, and more up to 85% off!

Indie games are always throwing something interesting into the mixed bag that is gaming. Untried concepts that would seem like a risk to the big AAA publishers (whose games tend to have budgets that require scientific notation) are brought to life. Concepts such as [url=http://www.gog.com/game/the_real_texas]an alternative version of Texas, or an 8-bit open world romp through the video game memories of yesteryear have all been brought to us by indie games with all the attention to detail and love of the craft that an indie developer can provide.

Let's check out what we we've got in our own trail mix of indies in the IndieMix Promo!

Are you an explorer? Does the thought of making your own map using triangulation, yes, actual triangulation!, get you all excited? Then book a ticket to Miasmata for only $2.99! After being stranded on an unknown island, you must search the island for the cure to your own illness. Be careful as you are not alone!

Some RPGs will have you rolling your party for hours on end before you can even set one foot out the door. While that can be fun, sometimes it's easier to create party members on the fly, so to speak. Create your own party members using your very will--a single hulking behemoth or a herd of rapid-sting scorpions--in the world of Geneforge 1-5 Yours for only $3.74!

Fiending for a bit of the old ultra-violence? Are you done with being the nice guy, the so-called Chosen One, and saving princesses? Yeah, so are we! That's why we took a drive down to the Sunshine State and signed Hotline Miami for those of you who cried out "No more Mr. Nice Guy!" Snatch it now for $2.49!

This was just a taste of what's in store for you in our weekend promo! We have so many other interesting indies in our trail mix or, rather, IndieMix Promo until Tuesday, May 13th, at 3:59 AM GMT!

SmallDickie: Sometimes i buy games from GOG just because they have a large discount like 80% or more. It would be easier and practical to show the discount for each game. Maybe i wont buy a game with 70% but i will buy one with 80%. And i want to see instantly which is which.
Yes, it would be nice if GOG had just showed us the discount percentage. Until then, you may want to look at the message Ghorpm had posted to see those numbers:

djdarko:
If it helps, think of Evoland not of a game in its own right, but a means of telling the early history of the medium in the form of a game. Playing that one was a like an interactive history lesson. Nothing fantastic about it on its own, but if someone was just starting out playing video games, was old enough to understand what was said, and wanted to get a sense of what they would like, I would tell them to play Evoland and start with the parts of the game they liked best.

piepvogel: I don't know if it's a matter of licenses but we get lots and lots of indie titels and the other stuff are mostly adventure games. Some of us might be interested in indies and adventures (and I'm absolutely fine with it), but I'm waiting for cool sports, racing, diablo-like rpgs, simulation games.
Just a short look in "Racing & Sports": 24 titles; "adventures" & "indies": countless.

It seems that Gog.com doesn't like these genres. :-(
I agree.

Nothing wrong with an indie adventure game, but GOG is going overboard with these types of games.

It would sure be nice to see more of...something else for a while.
I bought:
Avernum + Hotline Miami + Retro City Rampage.

Good collection? :D
To The Moon & Anodyne are finally mine! Passed To The Moon yesterday, great game.
I have Hotline Miami for the ps3... I remember thinking, "This game must be so much better on the PC." Dammit GOG I'm trying to save money.

You realize that only 3 out of 19 games in this promo are adventure games?
I'm looking at some gameplay videos of To the Moon, does this game have combat, or is it a point and click adventure or something? I see the characters pickup items, but I don't see them ever use the items.
I thought that nothing interested me that I already did not have but I was wrong. Seeing DROD on the best seller list made me read a few of the reviews and they impressed me enough that I bought it.

PaterAlf: You realize that only 3 out of 19 games in this promo are adventure games?
You are incorrect.

I counted 9 out of 19.

Then we definitely have different definitions of adventure: I counted Reemus, Machinarium and To the Moon. I might also accept Lucius and Miasmata even if I would consider them as stealth and survival game. Which of the other games should be adventures?

Reemus
Machinarium
To The Moon
Lucius (this is listed as such on the card genre category - i always thought it as such)

i don't see any of the others are adventures.if anything rpgs and "platformer" types :P

physiq: Speaking of which, I used to have my eyes on 'To the Moon'. But after reading reviews and seeing the gameplay on youtube, I've decided not to take it anymore. I don't wanna be drowning in my own tears. lol XD

Pangaea666: It's an excellent game, though, and this cheap it's well worth it.

Doubt I'll pick up any of the games I don't already have, with is about half I reckon.

Edit: Far from half, although I have picked up the Spiderweb games elsewhere, before that particular place went to the dogs.
I agree that it's so cheap. Besides, I like the graphics. But I don't like the sadness. Oh, talking about dilemma...

Maybe it's better to have our own critiria setup to help making decision on picking up games. lol And yes, with some exception, of course.
Nice, thanks
Nice promo. Finally bought Machinarium and Spacechem.
