Miasmata, the Geneforge Saga, Hotline Miami, and more up to 85% off!

Indie games are always throwing something interesting into the mixed bag that is gaming. Untried concepts that would seem like a risk to the big AAA publishers (whose games tend to have budgets that require scientific notation) are brought to life. Concepts such as [url=http://www.gog.com/game/the_real_texas]an alternative version of Texas, or an 8-bit open world romp through the video game memories of yesteryear have all been brought to us by indie games with all the attention to detail and love of the craft that an indie developer can provide.

Let's check out what we we've got in our own trail mix of indies in the IndieMix Promo!

Are you an explorer? Does the thought of making your own map using triangulation, yes, actual triangulation!, get you all excited? Then book a ticket to Miasmata for only $2.99! After being stranded on an unknown island, you must search the island for the cure to your own illness. Be careful as you are not alone!

Some RPGs will have you rolling your party for hours on end before you can even set one foot out the door. While that can be fun, sometimes it's easier to create party members on the fly, so to speak. Create your own party members using your very will--a single hulking behemoth or a herd of rapid-sting scorpions--in the world of Geneforge 1-5 Yours for only $3.74!

Fiending for a bit of the old ultra-violence? Are you done with being the nice guy, the so-called Chosen One, and saving princesses? Yeah, so are we! That's why we took a drive down to the Sunshine State and signed Hotline Miami for those of you who cried out "No more Mr. Nice Guy!" Snatch it now for $2.49!

This was just a taste of what's in store for you in our weekend promo! We have so many other interesting indies in our trail mix or, rather, IndieMix Promo until Tuesday, May 13th, at 3:59 AM GMT!

Spacechem is an absolute steal at $1.99, and it's not on sale very often either. One of the most open ended and intellectual puzzle games you will ever plan. Here's an equally well crafted review of the game for those on the fence:

IAmSinistar: Thank you for the gift of The Real Texas, skirtish! That was a lovely surprise.

avatar
skirtish: Yes, I'm not a huge P&C adventure fan myself but picked it up because I liked the look. It's very cute and the puzzles far less annoyingly unlogical than I'm used from my other attempts at the genre. Altogether immensely enjoyable and in my opinion newbie-friendly. Be sure to back up your save games, though, as mine vanished after a Flash update, taking progress and motivation with it.

IAmSinistar: I have been holding onto this title because it's the only other Amanita Design game on GOG beside Botanicula. I adore Botanicula, it's what got me back into PC gaming after a long hiatus as a console player. So I am saving Machinarium as a special treat for myself. If it's as good as Botanicula, and there are plenty of indications that it is, then it is an unmissable game from this deal.
Sinister,
Machinarium is better than Botanicula for me. The gameplay is more well-thought rather random click tryingto get one right answer out of the five main characters or object hiding behind. With $2 also, you can't go wrong.

Glad to hear it's of comparable quality! I love Botanicula, and the diverse characters were part of the fun for me. It never really felt like I was pitted against the game, but rather that I was part of the crew of little plant creatures, working things out with them. I've had Machinarium in my collection for a long while, just waiting for the right time to play it. Sort of like how a wine connoisseur will save a favourite vintage for the best occasion. :)

IIRC you can choose if you want to redeem the game on GOG or Steam if you buy RCR from the Humble Store so that's indeed a nice deal.

IwubCheeze: Sounds like you have a crazy backlog :P
avatar
Impaler26: Yep, i also have ~600 games on Steam, ~390 games on Desura and a whole bunch of games from other stores and on CD/DVD. I'm drowning in games and it's about time i play through at least a few of them. :D
Yikes, that's not a backlog, that is THE backlog!! From this day forward, I will never moan about my 27 game backlog again :P

*lol*

I already played through several of those games but my backlog will indeed keep me busy for the rest of my life. :D
The funny thing is that i don't even have that many games compared to others - there are people who have over 1000 games on Steam or over 700 on GOG. Now that's hoarding games!
Speaking of which, I used to have my eyes on 'To the Moon'. But after reading reviews and seeing the gameplay on youtube, I've decided not to take it anymore. I don't wanna be drowning in my own tears. lol XD

groze: You can finish it in one sitting, maybe two or three hours.
Great, perfect!

It's an excellent game, though, and this cheap it's well worth it.

Doubt I'll pick up any of the games I don't already have, with is about half I reckon.

Edit: Far from half, although I have picked up the Spiderweb games elsewhere, before that particular place went to the dogs.

Machinarium practically free! Thanks!
Wonderful promo. Finally some games at their right prize...
Sometimes i buy games from GOG just because they have a large discount like 80% or more. It would be easier and practical to show the discount for each game. Maybe i wont buy a game with 70% but i will buy one with 80%. And i want to see instantly which is which.
