1 Weekend Promo, 2 fantastic franchises, 14 classic games, $26.91 for the complete collection, 100s of hours of unforgettable gaming

all games from Wing Commander and Ultima series available on GOG.com are discounted by 50%. You have the chance to buy Wing Commander 4, or Ultima VII: the Complete Edition for only $2.99 until Monday, June 4 11:59 PM EDT.

Ultima is a series of fantasy RPGs created by Richard Garriott (a.k.a. Lord British more) than 30 years ago. The main story of Ultima universe, which takes place in the worlds of Sosaria and, later, Britannia, follows the unnamed protagonist (known only as the Stranger or later as the Avatar, an incarnation of virtue) through three “Ages”: The Age of Darkness (Ultima I-III), The Age of Enlightenment (Ultima IV-VI), and The Age of Armageddon (Ultima VII-IX). It’s one of the most influential RPG series, recognized for open-ended gameplay, in-depth morality system exploring mature themes like racism and xenophobia, and a rich and detailed world. Whether you want to try the original trilogy, visit thousands of colorful places and characters in Ultima 4+5+6, play through Ultima VII: The Complete Edition--arguably the best in series, find your way back home in Ultima VIII: Gold Edition or complete Ultima Underworld 1 and 2, the first first-person RPGs with true 3D environments, all these titles are available for only $2.99 this weekend on GOG.com.

Wing Commander is a series of 3D space combat simulators, described by the games’ creator Chris Roberts as "World War II in space.” In this series, you follow pilots of the Terran Confederation in their fight against the aggressive feline Kilrathi. Introduce yourself to the epic military space conflict in Wing Commander 1+2, play as Col. Christopher "Maverick" Blair (starred by Mark Hamill) and watch amazing FMV cut-scenes in Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger, enjoy fast, action-packed, and varied space combat in the most expensive video game of its era Wing Commander: Privateer.

In addition to that, because the Wing Commander series plays so much better with a joystick, we’ve approached the guys from Logitech and they were kind enough to offer a few awesome Logitech Extreme™ 3D Pro joysticks to our users. Leave a comment below for a chance to win 1 of 3 logitech joysticks. You can also enter a similar joystick-winning contests on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

Become the Ultimate Commander (THE ULTIMMANDER!) and buy the complete collection of EA’s Most Famous Classic Series for only $26.91, this weekend on GOG.com.
Picked up Wing Commander 4. Now I have 1-4! Also I would love a joystick!
Wing Commander series or not, but it was when playing Tie Fighter I destroyed TWO joysticks. One was in such condition, that plastic parts inside were simply pulverized, they dusted out of casing...
I haven't had a joystick since my X-Wing days! :)
This is how I feel about the current promo:

Maybe a joystick will help me to feel better about my woes, I already bought every game on this list except for WC IV the day GOG released them. One of the best non-summer sale GOG promos ever and I already own almost every game. :(

zoozilla: For someone looking to get into both series, would the Wing Commander 1+2 pack and Ultima VII be the best options?

And sign me up for the joystick contest, please!
If you're looking to get into Ultima, definitely start with VII. VIII is alright but isn't much of an RPG and is a step down in pretty much everything, and the ones preceding it aren't as good and can feel somewhat dated. VII is the pinnacle of the franchise and one of the greatest of all CRPGs. It's the Ultima that has best stood the test of time and the game that got me into the series about 8 years ago. And you can fully enjoy both parts without playing the previous Ultimas, it's the start of a new story arc in the Ultima series so it's relatively self-contained. If you're looking for a dungeon crawler, Ultima Underworld is also a good choice.

For Wing Commander, I love the first two, but haven't gotten around to playing the others yet. The impression I've got is that the other two are better, so it's probably best to start with WC III or WC IV. I've also heard amazing things about Privateer.

Joysticks have come so far from the days when the Wing Commander games first came out.
Having to see the I/O ports and IRQs for your game ports on your SoundBlaster card, what a nightmare.

daszett: I lost my old joystick. I'm a bad joystick owner. I don't deserve a second chance....
OR DO I?
My wallet hurts so bad, what with the Tex Murphy promo and all... I already have WC 1+2, plus Privateer and Ultima VII. Are any of the other Ultima games worth it?
Yes, indeed they are!

Ultima Underworld is a fantastic, highly-influential dungeon crawler. Ultima IV-VI are worth playing if you can deal with how dated they are. I-III are probably a bit too dated at this point. And while VIII is a step down from previous Ultimas in pretty much every way, I still enjoy it.
Great promo, and I want a joystick please.
Nice! I'm loving everything you do for us gog!
I remember playing Starlancer 14 years ago, playing on some basic Joystick with connection to gameport, that is sadly history. Old computer is gone and also the Joystick. Now I have collection of IL-2 Sturmovik, Freelancer and lots of others great simulators begging for proper joystick. What is the best one for price under 100 $?
Wing commander! So many fond memories, cheers gog.com!
My god.. I don't need anymore games (buys U7 and Wing Commander 4)
I'd love to have a new Logitech joystick! Please enter me into the contest.
Ok, time to complete my (empty) collection!

I remember when I played the Wing Commander series, Privateer, and the Ultima Underground games... on release!

I feel old :(
Well, wtf, let's kill some furries :)
Sure, I also want a glorious chance to win this fabulous Logitech stick of joy!

(Wait.... That didn´t quite.... I mean, it sounded... Ah, heck, it stays as it is.)

It is Extreme! And it is 3D! And it is Pro! :) :) :)
