downloading it now. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the last episode of Season one. But so far I've heard a lot of good stuff.
The second season of Walking Dead started with a bang, imho. The few minutes when zombies walk between the cars are the most tense I've watched on a TV show in years....
Hey ease up on the spoilerz you guysss. I didn't know there were any walking zombies in this show ;(;(;(;(

Watching it at the moment
Totally disappointed in the premire this season. Rehash all the old blame game crap. I wish Andrea would die a horrible, horrible death so I dont have to hear her whine anymore and there is clearly not enough Daryl. Thats the one good part so far this season, they look like they may put a little more depth on him.
It was decent, but I wouldn't say great. I thought the end was gonna be

HERE BE SPOILER

them finding the girl, so the little guy getting shot was a surprise. But that deer (is that what it's called in English)? was beautiful.

Laurie Holden was hotter in The X-Files- and The Majestic-days though.

Daryl is a caricature, he merely bitches about stuff, he's presented as a selfish, white trash bigot but then grabs a shotgun to go along and help the guys. I haven't seen any S2 yet, but unless they do some serious reworking of his character he makes no sense to me.
Merely bitches??!?! That doesnt make him not fun, which is what this show is about. And clearly if you watch the show you would KNOW, he prefers a crossbow.

Not when he goes to save the "*insert asian slur* kid".

I don't know, I like good writing in shows, which is probably why I can't stand most TV. The Walking Dead is close, but it's still got issues and Daryl is an issue for me. There's so many contradictions between his presentation (in episode 3?) and episode 6 that I'm actually at a loss as to how they could completely flip-flop on his character so quickly.
I really enjoyed the first episode of this season more than any episode last season. Except for Rick's soliloquies, the one at the beginning especially I found annoying. And I know there's a debate about Andrew Lincoln's accent being good or not, but to me it seemed pretty horrible in that opening scene.
Jeebus ... the last episode was just ... holy crap, damn I ... *loss for words*

TBH the second half of the season was starting to dwindle, so I wasn't quite expecting an episode of this quality. Really glad they picked up the ball in this last one.

So what did you guys think about the last episode? I reckon it was good enough, but it does seem to me like the writers are running out of queues to drive the plot forward (pretty much evident in the first half of S2), thus focussing once again on the inherent dysfunction of the characters. Which seems to be oh so common in any series / movie.

Thoughts?
Lori's actions in the episode were mind boggling. No show have I ever watched where scenes have screamed more loudly "WE NEED HER TO DO THIS REALLY DUMB STUFF TO SETUP A FUTURE PLOT, BEAR WITH US FOLKS!"

The writing for the women on this show is just bad. If you want to make a character based show, DEVELOP CHARACTERS! And keep them remotely consistent. Doing dumb stuff to drive the plot forward, I'm flashing back to Heroes post season 1 here.

Good ending though.

Yeah, that's precisely what I was referring to. I held my head with two hands and muttered: "Really? Is the only show that I'm still watching stooping this low?"

Other than that, it was a decent episode. But I'm not necessarily agreeing with the show's increasingly reduced focus on zombies. I don't necessarily mind the drama, but the first half of S2 was really pushing it. I hope that the 2nd half will improve in that aspect.

*minor spoiler*
Not sure what I think about involving human 'villains'. I guess we'll see how they handle that.
*end spoiler*

Have you watched the trailer for the next episode yet?

Watched the last episode and like you said there definitely seems a reduced focus on zombies for some reason.Disappointing really for a show called 'Walking Dead'. Plot is getting tad boring and overdramatic to be honest. Hope they do something!! :).
