I'd recommend watching the first couple of episodes of S1 and then deciding for yourself. S2 started off well but really hit rock bottom after the first few episodes. If you can power through those, there ought to be enough motivation to keep on watching. S2 got a LOT better after the mid-season break. The particular episode that you referred to was one that I despised, you can find my comments on it here:

That's a different episode. The one you're referring to was after the one he's talking about.
Darabont had some excellent ideas for season two that were ultimately rejected by AMC because they wanted to save money.

Now I know why nearly all of season two has taken place on the farm.

So what do you think of the finale? Once again, many inadvertently humorous moments and many nonsensical decisions, but overall it wasn't a bad episode. At least stuff happened. Wish there had been more of this mid-season.
Solid enough. The two people that died might as well have been wearing red Starfleet uniforms though. Really not much impact after killing off more important people last couple weeks.

Biggest issue is I'm not really feeling the Ricktatorship. His rant felt weird. You killed your best friend for the group? Really? Not because he was a psychotic that was trying to kill you and take over your life? I mean, I'm glad he's telling these bumbling idiots off, but he's not exactly in a position to be looking down at them.

It was a pretty good episode, better than a lot of episodes this season. I thought a lot of scenes near the end just seemed weird. Rick's rant as you mentioned, Lori's reaction when he told her he had to kill Shane, the groups reaction to Rick keeping information from them cause he knew they were too stupid to handle it. It's not like that was very important compared to the current situation. The scene where Andrea is saved and the final shot gives me hope for next season.

Yeah, this. But dumb shit like this has been happening all season already so I'm wasn't overly taken aback. More of the same really. Looking forward to the next seasons, just hoping that I won't lose interest over the long break (as typically happens with me and series).
Not sure as to how I feel about the return of Merle.
Well I' haven't read the comics and have no intention to do so.

Yes, the characters acted idiotically at times purely as a plot device, but all in all I enjoyed the show and await it's return.

Egg is good as the sheriff, good accent.
Stomached somehow through S2 (having too much time on my hands) and have to say it's one of the worst shows on TV.
It's not completely bad, but it's pretty terrible considering how much hype it got.

It basically boils down to a reality show like Big Brother or Survivor with people quarreling and bickering 90% of the time.
The other 10% is people dying in the most dumb ways imaginable. It's funny how most of the characters eaten were in wide open places, or how they run in one direction and fire shots behind them wasting ammo at something that can't catch them while not looking what you are running at.
But still you watched it whole. And you will watch season 3 too like most of walking dead "antifans" ? ;P

To watch whole 2 seasons of "the worst show in TV" you must be...?

As I said too much free time, but the first one was OK lasting only six episodes.
Won't bother with season 3, maybe I'll try the comics as people claim how superior they are.
i think you must play this game.

Ok, I see. I didn't mean to insult you, if you feel offended, then I'm sorry.

Let me introduce to you golden "3 (or 4) episodes rule". If show / season still sucks after 3-4 episodes, quit watching :P It works every time, maybe not for second seasons, because you give more credit to the show you liked before, but for new shows? It always works.

Depends on the type of show. For example I like shows like Fringe and that kind of show usually have a two episodes pilot start and most of the first season is introduction to get the show on its feet.
So some shows I have to watch the first season before I can say for sure if I like it or not.

Of course it's not an absolute rule. Sometimes I dislike the characters, filming, actors or something else that makes me give up after the pilot episode.
Giving up after pilot episode is the worst possible choice, if you wanted to watch the show.

Pilot episodes are often the worst (sometimes the best) of the entire season. 3-4 episodes is the best to see how the story is developped.
