Always good to be a little more positive.
I've concluded a long time ago that life is short and pointless. We are born of chance and chaos and although we'd like to have our lives mean something in the grand scheme of things, we're all going to be dead and forgotten. The universe will continue and nothing will have changed.
This all sounds pretty grim, but ever since I've developed this nihilistic viewpoint, I've also developed a great appreciation for life; for you see, although our existence is but a blink of an eye in the lifespan of the universe, the fact that we're here at all to experience all these wonderful things around us is quite the marvel in itself.
Like I said, life is short - it'll be gone before you know it, but the world is full of wonders, from that majestic view from atop a mountain to the lights and people of a metropolis at night to even just a tiny flower growing out from a crack in the pavement.
I love taking in the sights and sounds of everything around me, knowing I'm just a visitor here, and that one day this will all be gone but at least I'll have enjoyed my time here. I don't let mundane things bother me because ultimately none of that will ever matter. There's no point being stressed out by everyday things or dwelling on the negatives.
Unfortunately we're surrounded by so much negativity (the media for example, loves to share terrible news) that it's easy to overlook the positive things in life. Yes, there are some very terrible things happening in the world, but there are just as many good people doing good things. You can spread a little joy too wherever you can, it'll make you feel better too. Also, appreciate the little things in life. I mean, isn't it amazing that you and everything you see around you are made of exploded stars, and that we are all just little specks on a giant rock in the middle of nothingness? I think that's amazing.
Finally, I'm not entering for TW2 (already have it). I just wanted to share why I'm glad to be alive.
