klaymen: And what's next? AC:Vietnam or AC:Iraq?
There's still the Napoleonic Wars, and WW1. WW1 makes some sense seeing as how it was started by an assassination.

OmegaX: Check the cover art. So is the main character a fashion challenged native american? That would explain the tomahawk and bow but the suit looks silly in this setting.
avatar
serpantino: Considering he's murdering a Brit in that, I'm guessing he's on the American side and it's going to be all "AMERICAAA F*CK YEAH" If it's another game soaked in shitty American patriotism then I guess I'll be stopping the series on Revelations.
Considering George Washington is shown to be a Templar in the previous games, and thus a bad guy, I wouldn't be so sure.

Roman5: That was not clever, neither was it funny

wodmarach: actually it was both but then my judgement is baseless despite all your anti game posts.. but then you never actually post your own views it's always a link to an article...
1: it was not, spindown tried to be clever by using a topic title of one of my previous threads for something completely unrelated to what I said regarding AC3

2: I do not make "Anti-Game" posts, I make criticism, regarding many things related to games

3: I post plenty of my own views, sorry if you aren't always bright enough to understand them

1. How is it unrelated? You make a disparaging remark about a game and he makes a joke using your disparaging title about a game.
2. No you make anti-game posts ALL THE TIME. But you shroud it as posting news stories.
3. Now look at your ME3 posts they are ALWAYS a news post from another site followed by a "see it's going to be crap" that's not a view that's parroting other peoples views and claiming them as your own.
Just downvoted a whole heap of posts. Stay on topic, people, and try to avoid flaming each other.

At some point in the expanded universe we get told who the second greatest traitor of the Assassins is. Maybe Washington will be shown to be the guy holding the number one spot?

Whitecroc: I'm a bit worried that Ubisoft insists on getting the third game out before December 21. One year between releases feels a bit short, and Brotherhood and Revelations both felt like they suffered from being so close to AC2 in time.
I don't think this will be much of a problem. From what I understand, a team has been working on AC3 since AC2 was released.

As for the setting, I don't see the problem with it. Sure, it'll probably be much different from the previous installments, but if done right, that could be a very good thing.

You're right; I read later that the game's been in production for three years. I assume that means different teams and stuff. I just hope we won't get fed up with the games when they're released so close to each other. Revelations came dangerously close.

I know what you mean. But maybe the new and different setting will help with that; if it is quite different, it won't feel like the same ol' same ol'.
I think it may work, but if it has more focus on stealth in wildlife then in cities. I'm thinking AC meets Tenchu and Snake Eater. In this case the setting is perfect. Could bring the series forward.

Starkrun: now Assassins Creed franchise goes all "American Revolution" which is so overdone... So very overdone...
I think you mean World War II

Also, I am really excited for the change. The series is in dire need of a redirect and this is about as crazy as they could have gotten.

I don't like the AC series but I wouldn't mind playing a game set during the American Revolution. I don't get what there is to be upset about.

It is interesting, isn't it? On one hand there is complaints that there are no innovation in games, only identical games being mass-produced in series. On the other hand, there is a outcry when a series do something unexpected.
You know what they should have done? Feudal Japan.

Though I can understand both sides, it annoys me a little when such complaints arise. Even though I have made them myself a couple of times.
I'm kind of intrigued. It's a slice of history that really hasn't seen much love from the industry...and frankly, I'm curious to see how this ends up working in a world of cavalry charges and musket fire.
