if i was a betting man, i would put money on this kickstarter not making it.

The SpaceVenture Kickstarter is not doing great, unfortunately. They need to raise over $14,000 per day to reach the goal, but the daily average has been around $8,000 since day 4 of the campaign. I'm surprised at the lack of interest in this Kickstarter - there's literally no discussion going on here, whereas Leisure Suit Larry, Jane Jensen and Tex Murphy have all had some fairly active threads throughout their campaigns.
From their latest update:

So, what can you expect to experience in our new game? Here are Gir Draxon’s latest predictions:

* A new (and unlikely) Space Hero will emerge from a lowly station but with a unique skill set. Possibly a female protagonist.
* It will not feature a certain space janitor or other SQ characters
* The Two Guys (Scott and Mark) will be present as in-game characters
* A new “Space Foul” character will definitely be making a prominent debut
* You will navigate your own spacecraft through the SpaceVenture galaxy.
* You will engage in hilarious space dogfight sequences.
* No recent sci-fi/fantasy related movie, series or video game is safe from our parody scope. We’re looking at you Avatar, Firefly, and Halo.
* The game will play, look, sound and feel every bit like it was cut from the same cloth as our previous creations, ONLY MUCH BETTER in very way! We’ve learned a thing or two and tech has improved a little since the 90s.

I backed, but I'm not sure that this will succeed. There isn't really anything here to go on except the reputation of the creators.
yeah, i dont get it either. the only explanation i can think of is either everyone has spent enough on kickstarter or a lot of people who played space quest when they were young have died, from old age, or other causes.

And there was more to go on than that in the other big-name projects? They're actually the only ones that are putting out something playable (which actually might have hurt them but that's another story).

If you ask me the well has finally started to dry up. A lot of people have been saving up and giving generously to Tex, and The Two Guys had to have known about the fixed date of the Murphy campaign. They could've easily waited at least until Tex gets past the goal or something, instead they chose to pretty much go in the same time-slot and compete with each other (and the rewards in the Murphy project are probably the best value for money of all those big campaigns so far, hard to compete there... and the Andromeda tiers are a bit screwed up with the initial lack of any digital stuff at the physical tiers, and then added just game downloads for additional 15$... that was not a good move).

Jane's project was struggling as well and the reveal of a secured second game gave her a much needed boost. Hopefully the second prototype will be something good and have a similar effect.

Ouch, as someone else pointed out, if even Kicktraq is trending below 100% you know You're in trouble...

According to the Two Guys, prototype 2 is finished and should be released in a few hours... Apparently it was delayed because Mark Crowe fell sick last week.

They added a lot of stuff compared to the first prototype, including pretty graphics, a verb icon interface, sound, humorous text descriptions, a little "puzzle" and thee death sequences.

Reward tiers updated - looking much better.
Some include GOG vouchers for the Space Quest bundles and all include the DRM-free game as a digital download.
Yes, the new reward tiers are really nice. Since I already own the Space Quest games I will have a free GOG code to give away when the Kickstarter is over (either Space Quest 1+2+3 or Space Quest 4+5+6). If you're interested, just post in this thread and I will randomly choose a winner.

This was the deal-changer for me. I was reluctant to pledge because they wouldn't give me a digital download at $100, for the hoarder in me. I'm glad they're willing to rectify that.
About time, I just hope it's not too late...
I'm surprised about the added Space Quest series on gog, since they don't have the publishing rights. Will this actually go out of their pockets, or did they strike some sort of deal?
