CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference has just finished and everything is clear now. If you haven't been able to tune in to watch the live stream, don't worry. We've prepared a quick summary of our presentation with a video recap for your convenience. So, let's not wait any longer.

At the very beginning we had to brag a bit about how awesome the service is doing, of course thanks to you - our great users. And then, suddenly, the lights went off, creepy moans started letting out from all over the place while The EnigmaticT tried to discern something in the dark with his flashlight.

Worry not, it was the announcement of Alone in the Dark, that comes with Alone in the Dark 2 and Alone in the Dark 3 as free bonus materials! This great series starts a new wave of Atari games that will be available in the coming weeks! And on 10th of May as the last game from Atari, we'll release The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut. What's even cooler we're going to have a special, time-limited offer that will give you a 50% discount, so the game will cost you only $4.99!

As we're on the subject of The Witcher, we had more cool stuff about its upcoming sequel on GOG.com. Starting on May 10, everyone who pre-order The Witcher 2 on GOG.com will be able to pre-purchase the game and download 90% of the build, so they can play the game on release day! So if you haven't pre-ordered the game yet, you'd better do that before May 16! More details on The Witcher deals can be found here.

Pre-downloading such huge game like The Witcher 2 is some serious business, and you'd need some serious downloader to do that. That's where the GOG.com Spring Site Update comes in! Late April we'll introduce a brand new, improved and slick GOG Downloader which will allow you to download all your GOG games fast and easy. What else? Personal messaging will be now possible for all our users!

But that's not all! At the very end, spotlight was on your favourite French Monk, who had some news regarding new publishers coming to the site. Microsoft, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, Take2 and SquareEnix - one of those publishers is already signed, while two more from the list are almost on board! Which and when is coming? Well, you'll have to wait a bit for that :)

You can watch the video recap of the presentation here. Enjoy!

HertogJan: Around the time it got released I only played the Desperado demo based upon reviews comparing it to Commandos. The demo didn't make me want to buy the game. The crew you ride with aren't really outlaws btw.
Desperados is a great game, albeit very hard, and one I'll get the second they put it up (and they will). As for being outlaws, they most definately are. At least in the sense that they are criminals who recieve no protection from the government. Cooper's a gunman, Mccoy has been sentenced to death several times (and subsequently escaped), O'hara is a cheat, Sam is an escaped slave, Sanchez is a mexican bandit...and so on. The only person who isn't really an outlaw is Mia. In fact, Desperado is a synonym of 'outlaw'.

If you mean that they have not been sentenced to outlawry by a medieval court, the fair enough, but I'd wager that the characters of 'driver' haven't either.
Also, can we not wig out on arguing about history!
None of us was even alive during that period in time and perception is different in everyone. Everyone has their own point of view and truth about history. Afterall, history is "his story." It's all about perceptions.

Peace.

"His story"? The word "history" actually comes from the Greek "historia" meaning "learning or knowing through inquiry". (wikipedia)

Also, the study of history isn't all about perceptions even while the majority of source material is taken from such subjective accounts. The study of history is about collecting and collating data so that a clear and definitive truth can be found that is not subjective to individual perceptions.

However, I do agree that this ridiculous arguing about "who saved who" in World War 2 is absurd. The war was fought through the combined efforts of many nations, there is no one true "victor" or "saviour" amongst them.

"his story" was a smart ass comment.

back in the 90's all public schools changed from teaching "History" to "Social Studies" because of some illiterate feminists (who were more interested in public attention than womans rights) went on a rampage ...

Really? That's a little silly. I lament for your education system if school policy can be dictated by people wielding false information.
Please. .. What does this have to do with Atari or GOG? or the topic of this thread?

I hope we get Neverwinter2 Platinum.

The ones in Desperados are low lifes, the ones in Driver are criminals.
It's probably Desperados.
I might give that a try.
the font in the "outlaws" message was clearly western-style, so it's 100% Desperados, I hope for the entire serie (I think Desperados are like.. three games?)

About the others: we know Fear of the dark was Alone in the Dark and the monsters one is The Witcher so the list so far is:

What game made you dream of the stars?
What game made you ride with the outlaws?
Desperados
What game made you fear your past?
What game made you go to the underground?
What game made you feel like a hero?
What game made monsters afraid of you?
The Witcher
What game made you afraid of dark?
Alone in the Dark

From Atari owned games, I really hope to see Dark Vengeance and Chasm: The Rift, both as those are very underrated game I'm almost sure we'll never see them on GOG, or not anytime soon...
There was a Western FPS game that I loved to play way back when called "Outlaws". I hope it's this one but I won't hold my breath.

edit..... You know I just realized it could be this one since it's a Lucas Arts game......

edit of the edit.... Nevermind looks all the mystery games are produced by Atari...Oh well I think it would be a great game for them to get if they sign on Lucas Arts!!
