Huh, thought it was coming out sooner. That's good, gives me time to collect some money and work on my backlog before my life gets consumed. XD

There's no official launch date. They keep pushing back launch for polish reasons though, "August" is just my prognostication that they'll try and have it out before PAX Prime 2012.

Probably not a bad idea, as long as it means it's more or less bug free on launch. Releasing it too soon to D3's release probably would have hurt initial sales anyways.

But OTOH, I'm sure there are plenty of people that aren't interested in dealing with Blizzard's shenanigans.

*Raises hand* Plus the fact that I'm not really willing to pay a full 60 bucks for a game unless I think it's really awesome and totally deserves it.

If they want to steal Blizzard's thunder on this they could release in the next four weeks, but they'd better be pretty damned stable by then, it won't help if both games are buggy. Launching with ads, "Torchlight 2, all the fun of Diablo 3 without the Error 53!" might actually be worth some major sales.

I haven't seen it crash, but I did manage to get stuck in a wall last night when one of the enemies pushed me through it, which is something they need to fix before releasing it.

Ah, yes the Error 53, I got that when I tried to play the browser version of D3.

Ooh, I just learned the beta goes till Tuesday. That's nice, I thought it was only over the weekend.

Tested the beta... the game is pretty much ready for release :D
The beta is quite good amount of 4 hrs gameplay...It works on max settings on my pretty normal laptop so this is another big plus for it.

It's online only for the Beta. You create or join a game (I created a password locked game for myself only)

The download size is about 800MB with the patch I think (maybe a tad under over that, I can't remember)

MP only, though you can play on an empty server if you want. Don't recall the size, but I don't think it's too big.

That's what I did as well. The performance on the load screens sucks, but considering this was a Beta test with the LAN and SP disabled, I think that's acceptable. I'll be playing pretty much just SP so I don't have to worry about that. And if I play MP, then it's something I'll accept as I'm sure there's a valid reason for the extra load time.

I think it was more like 780MB or something like that. But it was a touch under 800MB.
