I'm in the process of rescuing myself a copy of Missionforce: Cyberstorm and Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns from the bowels of eBay as we speak!

Orryyrro: I saw MoO 3 in a bargain bin for $4, I left it there.
I wish i had knowledge of the game before my local video rental store went bankrupt i bought a copy of moo 3 with thinking it was the same has the 2 previous ones. I installed it once and now its lying on my shelf eating dust.
My kids were helping some of our friends do a big clean up project a wile back. In a box they found an unopened brand new Windows 95, Version of Stone Keep, It now is sitting on my desk collecting dust particles.
Actually, we had a shop that sold a bunch of old games so from what I've picked up over the years I still have:

Bioforge
Wing Commander 3
Carmageddon
Broken Sword 1 & 2
Quest for Glory 5
The Dig

I ouldn't mind getting some of these on GOG (I know we have WC3 :P )
A year ago I found a sealed, completely new (manuals, cases, even health instructions) and original big box PC version of Metal Gear Solid, for 14 euros, somewhere in Cyprus. The store also had another MGS copy but it wasn't sealed (should have bought it though) and a sealed and completely new big box copy of Lionheart, which I didn't buy as well...
7th Guest. Big box edition.
Everything in it, including the making of VHS.
Inside the box: mint.
Box: minor shelf wear.

Price?
$5.

Also got a copy of Einhander for PS1 for $1.

*edit* Derp, 7th guest predates DVDs.

2 years ago I got news from an old acquintance of mine he had just returned a copy of Icewind Dale to a local game store, as he couldn't get it to run. He asked the salesman to put it behind the counter for me, I got a phonecall that he asked the store to keep it apart for me and I was like 'wow, it can still be bought' and went to the store, where they already knew about my coming. So I started playing Icewind Dale before it got on GOG.

Other hardcopies bought in a new state in the last few years: Temple of Elemental Evil, Morrowind, Baldur's Gate box set (twice, for fear of the original copy getting damaged, it was before it came on GOG). I bought Might and Magic VI-VIII second hand with the original paper manuals, but refused to have it send in their boxes. The one who sold it thought it a sin to seperate the games from their carton boxes, but I had a very small appartment back then, with the shelves stuffed full of books, CD's and games already.
There's a flea market about 1 km from where I live, and some people are selling their whole PC and console game collections there. If GoG didn't exist, I would have bought quite a few games from there (though, even without GoG, I already own most of the PC games available there, but there are still some worth picking).

The last time was a couple of months ago when I bought Terra Nova:Strike Force Centauri CD for a couple of bucks, and I also got Halo 2 for my XBox for another few bucks. It is in fact the first game I've bought and played on my XBox, which I bought several years ago. Good to know I didn't buy that console for nothing. :)

I also checked the shelves full of second-hand PS2 games if there is anything interesting, but there seems to be nothing but children's games and sports games there. I couldn't care less.

For many years, I've felt like a freak perusing used PC game shelves on stores. I feel like I'm the last person on earth to be interested in (retail) PC games, especially the older ones, everyone else is by the console shelves. I remember when I bought a couple of second-hand Sudden Strike games (Sudden Strike + SS: Forever combo, and Sudden Strike 2) for a few bucks from a retail store, the young salesclerk whispered to another one:

"See? I told you someone would eventually buy them."

Apparently someone won a long-running bet there.

Nowadays I don't check the retail shelves much anymore, much better deals online (esp. GoG). And GoG has proved me that there are other people too who still find older PC games enjoyable.

I rescue almost 50+ games every year when I convince my wife during spring cleaning that I still need all of the games, boxes, manuals, etc. that I have accumulated over the years...

Although I agree that there are some great deals on the net, I occasionally buy physical copies as well for two reasons. First of all, I like filling up my shelf. I know that's not a very good reason, but hey, I find satisfaction in it anyway. Secondly, when I'm done with a game, I can sell it away, which often makes up for the higher purchase price. Sometimes I even make a profit, which is nice.

EDIT: That's is also why I never refuse a free game: even if it's worth a euro in a second-hand store, I'll end up a euro up in the end.

I'm constantly rescuing oldies and putting them in my closet. U.S Navy Fighters Gold, Jane's AH-64D Longbow Gold, ATF Gold, SimCity 2000 Special Edition, Star Trek: 25th Anniversary, all those huge boxed games of old.
I saved Sim Health, Drakan and Silver from a charity shop (for £2 each) All complete including registration cards, vintage games catalogues etc.

Oooo today I picked up the Gameboy Advance Zelda 1 for $12 at a pawn shop. Everything included, very little damage to box (id rate it a 9/10). Verrrrrrrrry happy.
