SimonG: I really don't want to be a game dev. Either you try to evolve and do something new "They changed it and now they broke it" or you stick with the old concept "greedy company only wants to make money with no creativity".
That's an unfair dichotomy. There are sequels to classics that 'innovate' without breaking anything, and still retain the feel of the predecessor, like the Dark Forces series, or what System Shock 2 is to System Shock 1 (though SS2 did dumb down the hacking minigame). Even Morrowind was a reasonably good sequel to Daggerfall. There's innovation, and then there's removing a good feature for whatever reason.
Nevertheless, though the trailer leaves me cold, I won't pass final judgment on the game until it's released. DXHR also had an equally amusing, troll-worthy promo trailer, and at that time looked like it could have gone in the shit direction, but it ended up being one of my favourite games of that year. Well, except the boss fights. God, those were terrible.
