Lots of in-game footage!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to GOG.com, DRM-free in 2014. We're genuinely excited about the prospect of distributing this title, as we believe that CD Projekt RED is about to make history with this one. A vast and detailed open world, dark and rich atmosphere, dynamic tactical combat, and excellent mature writing the series is well known for--everything about it sounds simply perfect. Understandably, every RPG fan is getting more and more anxious to play the third Witcher game, us included! Alas, just like everyone else, we have to wait. There is, however, a simple way to sneak a peek at how the game looks in action. Namely, we can all watch this VGX special trailer, made mainly out of in-game footage!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt VGX Trailer

Remember: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available DRM-free on GOG.com in 2014. We'll be keeping you updated on all developments in this matter.

zeffyr: Dear Witchers, little question - after playing couple of hours (3 maybe) I found The Witcher 1 boring and I couldn't enjoy playing it at all. Is there any chance that The Witcher 2 will be for me?
The first Witcher game is notorious for having a slow start. Once you get to chapter 3 there is no putting the game down, it's that good. If you really want to get to chapter 3 quickly, look up a walk-though but BEWARE OF SPOILERS!
Thx for all answers :) I'm going to try that sometime then! :)

Absolutely yes, I didn't really like W1 either but I did play it, but W2 is just leagues better IMO, one of the best RPG's I've played, and feels like completely different game at parts.
C'mon c'mon c'mon GIVE IT TO ME NOW STOP FUCKING AROUND
Witcher 2 was the best-written game in YEARS, and if this is ANY less good, I WILL DESTROY YOU!
Just tell me when I can pre-order. TELL ME!

The two games are VASTLY different. First time I played witcher I couldnt get into it either, but it just takes a while to get rolling. If you give it a chance it will be one of the best RP experiences of your life. The ending still stays with me and is absolutely perfect.

Witcher 2 is a better game overall, but the ending to W1 is just so much better than the one in W2. W2 feels a bit more like a mid-act if that makes sense. Not very fulfilling but a FANTASTIC ride even so.

I recommend playing them both through to the end, its top-shelf stuff. And very rare in this age of crappy RPGs.

Mmmm....can't talk....drooling....

I can't wait for this one.
So I found a collector's edition of the Witcher 2 at some store, but it was kinda pricy, considering that I already have the base game... but it also has a to scale Geralt amulet.

Woe is me.

But my point is, if I had known about the physical collector's edition before I bought the Witcher 2 in general, I would have grabbed it post-haste. Is there a similar thing with 3?
Not even going to check out that trailer. Don't get me wrong, TW3 is one of my most anticipated games, but if I look at video footage now, I'll just drool over it and get all excited, and then I'll have to deal with months of waiting for the game to finally be released. :P

Question: Is the physical/retail version going to be DRM-free, as well? I figure it would make sense, but just want to make sure.

It is on sale so often that I would buy it and try it yourself. Hell, you can find it for less than $10 at times, and for being one of the best modern RPG's ever made I would certainly give it a shot. The graphics and swordplay are a major step up from The Witcher 1 (MAJOR step up), and the story only gets better as you advance. It is an adult themed tale that has no rights or wrongs, only your own personal views. Definitely try it at least.

Just had to add in my own 2 cents' worth: Don't listen to the nay-sayers. I dare say Witcher 2 is one of the best Action-RPGs you'll ever play. The first one is a good game, but the sequel does nearly everything better. In particular the combat is a lot more direct and intense, and I also liked the "skill tree" much better. You might want to play with a gamepad, though. I tried it with mouse and KB at first and didn't enjoy it as much. But your mileage may vary, so just try both options.

Edit: Oh, and don't judge any RPG after only a few hours. Even the best usually take a while before you really get into them. ( At least in my experience. )

cj13810: As long as you buy a PS4 or XBone. :) Or is there a PS3/XBox360 version coming too?
ATM i have no intension for upgrading my system/buying a new one.
Seeing that most of the new releases are DRM ones there is no need for a new one for me.
But one or both new consoles are very high on my to buy list for next year.
If the interview with Marek Ziemak from CD Projekt Red in September is correct they are pushing the boundaries
even for the next generation.

As long as nobody knows the release date (amazon moved it from 9-12 to 12-12...who knows) there is still enough time
for a decision. And no matter when it hit the stores....a buy without reading different reviews is a no no for me.

Just to clarify - I've bought TW2 during fabulous Insomnia sale, it's only waiting for free time to play :> Thank you for all the answers, Witchers! :>

The Witcher 3 on console is definitely not an option for me - I need to complete my personal playthrough, and want to carry all my choices from The Witcher 1 and 2 to the end.
